This was turning to be a much different interaction than she had initially expected. Not in a bad sense, of course; if anything, this was a much better resolve than what she had in mind, thinking that this was a lost Pokémon of sorts. It seemed she was going to have a fun day with this Gardevoir instead, and that was better than her other plans for the day.

(Which was… nothing, really.)

“I come through here now and again to get to other towns, but man… I should stop here now and again. It’s really kinda pretty…”

The mention of a bakery brings her back to Earth as she jumps slightly and turns her head to Gardy, and she smiles with delight at the thought of getting something from a bakery. Nothing got her in a good mood more than some nice grub to chow down on! Snacks from her bag were nice and all, but…

“I’ll hold you to that, dude! I could go for some sugary goodness right now. Lead the way~”

He didn’t have many plans for the day either - a day off really, truly meant no working whatsoever. Not that work felt much different from this, but, off-work conversations were so much freeing, he didn’t have to put up an act or anything. 

The end result was the same, though - he just couldn’t turn that tour guide switch off.

“No problem!” He beamed, ever so slightly picking up the pace in response to her energy. “Yo, you won’t regret it.”

Sure enough, within a couple minutes they were there, and he held the door open for her.

how did you ever survive in the wild without knowing outdoor stuff??

The last time I was in the wild was seven or so years ago, when I was a Kirlia, and got caught by a trainer. And, like... I dunno, man, I just, like, lost almost every single one of my skills, even though I was released hella days ago.

I can still Teleport to somewhere I know well, if I’ve got enough stamina. That’s kinda it in terms of useful stuff.”

Last ooc post before I start to get replies done!

I see a bunch of peeps migrating to Discord, Twitter, and other sites, which I completely respect. Go where you gotta go to feel safe, y’know? 

But I’m certainly sticking around. I’ve lived through actual website collapse (Sheezyart) and I know this ain’t it.  Once the dust settles, and the collateral damage on completely random posts is all settled… who knows? Maybe this site might be a slightly better place to be than it was before. 

I’m much more optimistic about Tumblr’s future than I am about the future of this planet, let’s put it that way.

The man’s eyes narrow ever so slightly. The Gardevoir’s hesitation is noted but will not be pointed out. It’s part Psychic-type, after all. He’d be surprised if it didn’t notice something. So, there’s no need for drastic measures… Yet.

Hazama’s lips are tugged up in a slight smirk as he chuckles. “I bet you’re right… Now, tell me, what kind of drink is it that you have there…?“

He can smell it from where he’s sitting and he’ll admit it’s got his attention.

Okay, Gardy was seriously starting to worry now. Whatever this guy was, it certainly wasn’t normal. That laugh wasn’t a friendly laugh. There was now a  chance that he’d have to teleport the heck outta here, but he’d have to be outside for it to work - and something was telling him running wasn’t an option.

“U-uh...” Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he recalled his order. “It’s, um... a mint mocha latte... half-caf, half-decaf...”

The man almost wants to blink at that last word, a bit confused. Still, he’s managed to get the pokemon’s attention, who seemed willing enough to lend a hand so Grovyle focuses on the task at hand.

“ I was told there’s a shop run by chanseys around but I wasn’t, ah- given more information and I can’t find it. “

Now that he fully stops to think about it, he had been in such a hurry to get away from the constant bickering that he didn’t even bother to get the basics… Ah, he really was getting too comfortable, wasn’t he? 

“Oh, I know the place!” Gardy immediately perked up on hearing that little description. If there was a Pokemon-run shop anywhere in the city, he had made it his personal mission to know. 

“It’s, like, not too far off! Just a few minutes, uh, thataway,” he replied, pointing in a southwesterly direction. “If you want, I’ll, like, walk you over there!”

He eagerly floated up and down in place, waiting for the man’s answer. This guy’s confused state wasn’t getting him down too much - he just thought he was a tourist. Tourists, especially the old ones, always seemed a little confused.
