Tell me again, the story of all the things I cannot do, so I can tell you the story of how I will do them.

2021
The past 2 years I was barely on here. I was trying to live my life and make decisions that would hopefully help me in the future. For me, the new year didn't start as the fresh, clean slate I thought it was going to be. I got a corneal abrasion, so I couldn’t really see and was confined at home, my eyes closed for almost 24 hours for 3 days (my eyes still get teary when I think about it and I remember the sensation). I had a difficult conversation with an important person in my life. One of the staff at the hospital where I work tested positive for Covid, so we naturally had to get tested (the result took more than 3 days to come out. I’m negative, thank You God). And then the attempted coup in Washington happened (which honestly no one knew how to handle). All in the first week of January. The week prior to that, I was just out of it cause of hormones and side effects of getting the Covid vaccine. Basically, I was very much ready for just some time alone so I can take care of my overall wellbeing.
Yesterday, me and my friend went to Point Reyes and honestly, I was so glad I didn’t bail on the plan. I didn’t sleep well the night before so that morning I thought “maybe I’ll take a raincheck today” but I was like “nope, get out of bed and get ready.” I was half an hour late. It was the first day in what felt like a long time that I can function again. I have no words for it. It’s not like I had some kind of epiphany of why I was feeling the way that I had been for the past few days. Somehow, there was no pressure or expectations. It was just being present, being there. Fully. Not immersed in worries or anxious about the future. I was just being. It felt nice, like a release from forcing myself to do things.
Cheers to 2021. May we find moments of peace and comfort this year.
Idk who needs to hear this but, it’s time to start putting your healing first
the woman you’re becoming will cost you people, relationships, spaces, and material things. choose her over everything.
Last day at work! Forever grateful for this team who opened their door for me. I have learned so much. 💜
Coronado Central Beach 08/11/17 Went somewhere new this month. Lately, I've found myself drawn to the waters. It gives me comfort.
How do you carry on functioning when you're tired all the time
It's like everyday I struggle to get up from bed, push myself to work, then exhaust myself till I go home and do it all over again. PS studying feels too much to do after work. I just want to lie down and sleep.
If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently…When you look into infinity, you realize that there are more important things than what people do all day.
Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes (via wordsnquotes)
Why do I still care about what other people think of me?
Also, the burden of carrying people's expectations is proving to be too much to bear.
I’ve been really bad at trying to post at least once a week. So here goes all of the things that’s been running in my mind.
It’s been an eventful week and it’s only Wednesday. I don’t know what the remaining days would bring.
1. The bus incident still affects me after a month of it happening. But it only causes anxiety when the exact same situation occurs. When I’m seating by myself or next to a girl, I’m fine.
2. Rushing my mom to the ER and waiting for more than 2 hours and the hospital staff not giving her anything for her chief complaint was beyond frustrating.
3. Being late to work and coffee not providing the stimulation that I needed to work efficiently just made me want to curl up in bed and sleep for days.
4. I don’t know how to deal with my mom wanting to cancel the trip to my sister’s later this month because I have been looking forward to it.
5. Still bothered by my actions lately. I have been very honest but also, it felt good. The first line from the screencap from the artidote’s Instagram story perfectly put into words what I’ve been feeling. It’s the photo up there.
I just want to shut everything out and have some peace and quiet by myself.
PS I wrote this down Wednesday morning and I am posting it as of Thursday noon and I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN BECAUSE DYSMENORRHEA AND I HAVE TO STAY AND WORK INSTEAD OF GOING HOME AND RESTING. PAIN MEDS ARE NOT HELPING AT ALL
I hope something unexpectedly good happens to you this week.
18th of 365
I am looking forward to a lot of things and I cannot believe that it’s already the 18th today. Time is moving so fast. The most pressing matter this month is my behind-the-wheel test at DMV. Here’s to hoping my driving skill is good enough so I can pass the actual driving exam.
Today's playground ☀️
We are torn between nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known.

Of long drives and the things I think of.
