"um mich herum aber nicht in mir drin."
Thinking about how Hunter and Collector both act a lot more parental to Belos than Belos does to them, specifically in the way both of them are forced to manage his emotions in self-protection.
Hunter tries to find alternative ways to ease/cure Belos's chronic illness, he speaks for Belos and does the majority of the abuse justification. When Belos is upset, Hunter tries to explain things/calm him down- Hunter is managing his care and is punished when Belos doesn't get what he wants. Collector relates themself to him, making jokes that they think he'll find funny and trying to make him feel better. Collector also does the majority of the work that Belos takes credit for (Belos tries to shatter the mirror bc he knows that they're too powerful/smart not to be a threat to him- he's scared of them).
Belos's ability to control them gets down to the fact that Hunter is disabled and Collector is trapped. Hunter leans more into that adultness/parental behavior while Collector uses aesthetics/games to appear more childish. It's really notable that Collector views themself as an equal to Belos and they ignore their emotions/internal feelings in favor of his/ appealing to him. Collector will get upset and then go back to fawning to protect themself- they try to stop him from committing genocide by hugging him and forgiving him. Both Hunter and Collector are trying to manage Belos's emotions because they can't leave, so they both go above and beyond to make him happy/feel better so he doesn't hurt them.
So if you remove your burden... What then?
