(the artist died in the process of making this bc the character was too hot for her to handle, may she rest in peace 😔🙏)
annabeth be like:
What I love the most of tTC is that we get to meet Frederick Chase because for the way Annabeth spoke about him, I thought he was going to be this heart of stone, cold man who's very intimidating but it turns out he's a nerd who constantly forgets where did he put his things, geeks over completely random historical battles, has miniature soldiers for his war replicas and is so intelligent that he, a mortal, figured out how to make bullets out of celestial bronze from weapons Annabeth left in her room so he could protect her in case she came back home. He took a fucking plane he owns to save his daughter even if they didn't have the best relationship in the world. Like, this man threw himself into a battle against Kronos' monster army and then freaked out because the fight was so cool,,, I know he was a dick back when Annabeth was a kid but that man is rad as hell
I feel like Riordan took Annabeth as a character for granted. Being the daughter of the goddess of wisdom, she could have had so many powers related to it. Like, I get her arc is not really having powers per se but still being as capable as the rest if not more, but still, we're talking about the goddess Athena. It would've been cool if Annabeth could have been able to talk to owls or transform into one, or make olive branchs grow and being able to control them as she wished -kind of like Dionysius- since Athena created them.
Or maybe something to do with the mind itself; Athena kids are brain children, they were born out of mere thoughts, them being able to read minds, or control others with it would have made so much sense. I feel like he downgraded Athena and her abilities, and her children as well, to make the others shine. Which again is not a bad a thing, but it could have been executed much better and still have the Athena cabin being more than the nerds who are afraid of spiders.
Annabeth: This year I lost my dear cousin Magnus
Magnus: Stop telling people I'm dead!
Annabeth: You're literally dead
The Chase family is sketchy as hell I need a series of the shit they've done because I know for sure they have a huge backstory that is probably related to the other series
Of all of the things I love about Annabeth, the fact that she almost got herself killed because she thought the riddles in the BoTL were too easy and complained because it was an insult to her intelligence will always be my favorite
If you ever say Annabeth is not the friend mom just remember in BOO, when Nico came out, she literally asked for a high five. She did nothing but just raise her hand. My boi came out and she was like "Cool! I support you! Gimme a high five! You're gay and that's super okay!". If you don't think that's the most mom thing in the world then you're wrong
Percy: And she sometimes puts this cute little face when she's angry-
Octavian: If you don't shut up about Annabeth already I'm going to end up falling in love with her
Reyna: I already am
Annabeth: This is a little awkward, us not really knowing each other and going into a war together
Hazel: Talk about yourself. I even know what side of the bed you sleep in
Frank, nodding: The left side. Always
Annabeth: Ho- How do you know that?
Hazel: Percy talks way too much about you
Rick Riordan really made Nico di Angelo, a really relatable and loved caracter, in a child series and right before its end he revealed he was gay. I think we don't appreciate that enough like Riordan really made Nico more than just a the fun gay side-chick that has an unhealthy obsession with making sure everyone knows he likes men and instead of using him and his sexuality as a comic relief, he made him an amazing character with a lot of depness and flawed who isn't defined by his sexuality and with whom a lot of kids who maybe went through the same stuff growing up could feel identified with and it made them feel normal because he was treated normally so why wouldn't they and it was nothing to be sorry or ashamed of. Like,,,, JK Rowling could NEVER
I’ll add that Nico di Angelo and all of the other characters were awesome because they were not defined by the traits they are representing. For example, Nico isn’t just an amazingly written character BECAUSE he’s gay, but because he is actually just that well written. True representation is showing that being gay, being ADHD, being dyslexic, being non-binary or genderfluid or what have you is not the character’s true defining trait. So many TV shows introduce characters and focus on the fact that they are gay and make that the focal point of their personality which in and of it self ain’t terrible, but it lacks the creativity, reality and honesty of what people are actually like. But Riordan doesn’t do that. The characters he creates are so much more than their sexual orientation, mental illnesses/struggles, and gender identity. That’s what makes him an amazing writer.

Annabeth doesn't grief someone's death until a month passes. She's always like "They're coming back. They always are" and when called a heartless bitch she pulls this presentation starring Thalia and the tree, Percy and his funeral and Magnus with his dead and headless body
Apollo: On a scale from one to ten, you're a nine because I'm the one you need
Reyna: What the fuck? I'm a ten, bitch
Apollo: It's just a pick up li-
Reyna: I don't care, I'm a ten
Percy: When I first saw Annabeth, I thought she was a princess
Will: When I first saw Nico, I thought he was dead
Nico: Bitch I wish
Percy and Annabeth getting "Sorry, we're retired" matching t-shirts and always wearing them when they are called to Mount Olympus
Nico: Okay, we need to open this door
Nico: Percy, give me your credit card
Percy, handling it: There you go
Nico: *pockets it* Thanks. Now Annabeth kick the door open
