“Good.” Anna nodded. “Yeah, all fine with me.”

“It really is I’m excited and nervous.” Austin could manage it hopefully. He just had to look into finding a better job. And not just for himself but for Chloe and the kid. “Oh yeah? That is really good. You are going to be an amazing grandmother, mum.” He told her softly, looking down for a moment before back up at her. “I am sure I am okay. I just worry given the family history.”

“What do you mean? Your dad?” She glanced down. “Daisy?” Anna remembered finding a diary of Daisy’s underneath her bed after... in it, she had signed off different entries as if she was different people. It had scared her.

“Ah. Well, hey, I’m sure something will come to you eventually. Sometimes it just takes time.”

Anna watched her for a moment or two, unsure why but she just... reminded her of Daisy and it hurt so much that she couldn’t see her daughter, fix her, and that the whole town saw her as just a monster. “So...” She said finally, announcing her presence. “How come you’re sitting here by yourself with your nose in a book, huh?”

Austin smiled back at her, nodding his head. “Yes, really. It really is amazing even if her and I aren’t together. I am really happy about this.” Although he was worried due to their family history.

“Honey, it’s incredible news!” Anna smiled. She knew it might be difficult at first, figuring out everything especially since they weren’t together but it was such a nice, happy thing. “You know I’m going to buy a mountain of baby stuff, right?” She chuckled, looking back at him. “You sure you’re okay?”

“Good. I’m glad.” He took a deep breath and let it out. “It’s about Chloe…she’s umm..she’s pregnant with me.” Austin looked over at her for a moment. “We had a moment, and turns out I got her pregnant..You are going to be a grandmother.”

Anna looked at him and then she smiled. “Really?! Honey, that’s amazing! It is, right? Are you happy about it?”

Austin shook his head a little bit. “No I haven’t.” He sighed some. “How are you feeling? Are you okay?” He wanted to ask if she was still her but also check her in general.

Anna shrugged, figuring she’d see her later. “Yeah, I’m great, why?” She asked, looking over at him. She was definitely having a good day but she wondered if something was wrong so she looked at him a little worriedly.

Heather watched Anna as she worked on getting her jumper free. It wasn’t fair. She was this close to her mother, but she couldn’t say anything. Did she even want her to know? Would it just mess things up? “Thanks…” She sighed, snapping back into reality. “Doesn’t even look like it was caught.”

Anna chuckled. “It’s the special mom’s touch.” She joked lightly, obviously just meaning the simple fact that she was a mother -- and joking that there were some things it seemed only mothers could do -- not that she was Heather’s mother. She smiled lightly, pausing as she blinked blankly at Heather for a moment or two. Then she sort of blinked back again. “I was gonna go grab lunch, you want to come?”

“A terrible combination of almost everything.” He chuckled a bit, shaking his head slightly. “I own a law firm, but I also own a lot of other businesses.” 

“Oh, I see... sounds like you’re a very busy man.” Anna said, feeling a bit out of her depth because she didn’t get any of that law or business stuff at all. She supposed she was just too... simple.

“Hey, sweetheart.” Anna looked up from her magazine with a little nod. “Sure, what’s up?” She asked, putting it down. “Have you seen Jo around anywhere today?”
