Hello sir, I hope you are well. I was wondering if I could request some words of encouragement, I'm a professional translator, and this is the second time this year in which I've lost steady income because yet another agency is hiring "editors" who just correct translatiobs done with AI, this has been happening for years now, but nowadays it feels like no one appreciates the work of translators anymore, I keep seeing people thinking they can do a better job than us using things like DeepL or google, and lots of peopke agreeing with them, because we "butcher the source material" and it's just disheartening, I love translating, but I feel like giving up at this point.

I'm so sorry to hear that. One thing that I've done over the last couple of years is to let all of my foreign publishers know that I want to see the name of the translator on the front cover of my book in that language. It shows how much respect I have for what the translator has to do.

I actually have no hope that you might see this but I want to write it anyway

We are Egyptian Muslims, so good omens is too strange for a Muslim young mind.

Now as I'm writing this, my 11 yo niece is so excited to watch S01E02

Watching first episode was so confusing for her. I had a lot of explaining about old testament and Quran tales to do, The concepts of good and evil, So much explaining about scriptures had to be made before talking about the role and rules of imagination and how it's the base of everything good and sometimes evil we as humans came to be and create.

She's now enjoying it with much less confusion

And though I have no business to be proud of your Amazing work, but I'm still proud that I know how to enjoy it with her and the chance of taking a step further with her towards acceptance and defferentiating between artistic creation and religion and that the later should never hinder the former and also to help introducing your work to her.

Hope soon her English will be good enough so she can start reading your books herself.
