52 Frames, Week 13: "Slow Shutter" - "I Donut Know Which One To Eat First" - This week's prompt made my mind run from light trails to light painting and right back to food - there has been a lot of that lately. I cannot take the honour and say I baked these myself, it was most definitely Krispy Kreme's that came to the rescue. Over the past months I have been reading the food photography book by Bea Lubas and I have been so inspired to try something that fits the topic. So here goes - jelly base with a topping of berries! I just wish the flight had been to go on a nice treat, like a city break, a ski trip or a week in the sun. 52 Frames, Week 4: "Water" - Ahhaa Science recently published a video of a project you can undertake when there is enough degrees below zero outside. Take a jug of boiling water, make sure it is at least -14C outside (the lower the better!) and see what happens when the cold air and boiling water meet. Water freezing fast and steaming creates some amazing visual effects. These are the beautiful Pakri limestone cliffs near Paldiski. Shows how the layers of our Earth are so fragile and exposed to all the elements. But isn't it so beautiful? 52 Frames, Week 2: "Leading Lines" - I took a snowy walk to a new memorial in Estonia, the Memorial to Victims of Communism - something close to heart for us as we never wanted to be a part of the Soviet Union for almost 50 years. We lost every 5th person due to the terror - there's only a million of us, you feel the effect. The memorial consists of two parts - The Journey and the Home Garden. Here, you see The Journey. A little bit about the memorial: "In order to arrive at the Home Garden, one must undertake the Journey. In order to set out on the Journey, one must leave the Home Garden. The Journey is a long corridor that symbolises the merciless power of the totalitarian system. The Home Garden is the place where dreams, memories and a longing for home intertwine. 2020 was a tough one for me to actually get organised enough to post and develop my skills. I've taken a lot of photos, but not even attempted to edit and post.
