I used to say, “All Lives Matter,” when I felt bad for the other ethnicities left out of the picture. It made sense that I could say, “All Lives Matter,” because part of that saying includes the black race, right? And then we lost a black son, leaving a gas stop with candy in his pocket. Then a black student, who had his hands up like the cop demanded of him. Then a black woman, who’s mugshot was taken of her dead body lying on the floor. The media chose to use a picture of her lifeless face instead of one of her alive, smiling. Because black lives are that threatening to cops and the media. And then just last Tuesday, we lost a black father, selling CD’s to provide for his kids. These are just a pinch of the black lives we lost. Because black lives, apparently, don’t matter. And while my opinion is based off only of the minuscule amount of information I have, #BlackLivesMatter is what should be preached, because how can we say “All Lives Matter” when we’re letting these innocent people be put to death, and their murderers be put on a victim-like platform? How is that showing that all lives really matter? If all lives mattered, #TrayvonMartin would be alive. #MichaelBrown would still be here. #SandraBland would have had justice. #AltonSterling wouldn’t have to be a hashtag. I know all of this has been said over and over again, but I guess it hasn’t been said enough, because black lives are still being taken with no justice. #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter Say it again for those who can’t hear it.
