Personal Opinion: Amgio's been on a revival tear lately! A full on official sequel (Samba de Amigo: Party Central), a story focused Apple Arcade port of said sequel and now appearing in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, this happy-go-lucky dancing monkey is making a huge comeback!

It makes sense to being Amigo back as he's ALWAYS been involved in a lot of crossovers with Sonic like Sonic Pinball Party and all four SEGA Superstars games. Even Sonic made crossovers in Samba de Amigo with songs appearing in the original game, Sonic himself making a cameo in the Wii port of Samba de Amigo, and Sonic themed costumes appearing in Party Central. Plus, I consider Amigo to be one of the three must have SEGA Cameos alongside NiGHTS and AiAi, so it's a win.

Also, it was a blink and miss in the trailer, but Amigo has an Alternate Skin in the game and...

It's his original outfit, called Amigo (Classic) in the game! How ironic that he's the first and so far, only SEGA Guest to get this treatment, especially since Majima didn't even get that. That said, good on this dancing monkey.

Personal Opinion: I figured we'd be getting a character to promote one of the SEGA IP's that's getting a new game, but I honestly thought Beat from the New Jet Set Radio or Joe Musashi from the half a year old Shinobi: Art of Vengeance would get into the game, but Axel from the now fully revealed Crazy Taxi: World Tour works just fine as well.

Considering that I like B.D. Joe thanks to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (which has fair Item Balance and Online play compared to CrossWorlds I might add!), this is certainly a change of pace as I choose to play as Joe when I see a Crazy Taxi arcade cabinet.

Considering Axel is tha main character and focus of World Tour (as he has to travel the world across five cities to track down the a**hole who stole his Taxi), it makes sense to have him be in CrossWorlds while letting B.D. Joe take a break.

The new Crazy Taxi looks fun and promising, so I'm going to give it a try when it comes out. And before you ask...

I'm well aware SEGA used Generative A.I. to help with the level design. I know Generative A.I. has been decisive lately (mostly when it comes to development and art as robots are a different story. And no, we have not reached the point of sentiance in robots yet, so it's not enslavement thankfully...), but to call the game an instant loss cause and slop is just not being fair to the product or the people who worked on the game. SEGA said they they have humans overlook the game and project and only used the Generative A.I. as a tool. So everyone...

GIVE THE GAME A CHANCE BEFORE YOU JUDGE IT, PEOPLE!!!
