The way some Toby fans treated Clockwork back in the day is insane. They'd call her story badly written whilst dismissing any flaws Toby's story had.
Some of them called her a slut because of the abuse she faced. Completely different than how they treated Sally, mostly because she's a child and not actively involved with Toby, so therefore not a "threat" to fans' relationship with him.
A lot of people can't even post ticciwork fanart without some single digit iq troglodyte commenting "Btw i FUCKING HATE clockwork but your art is so good đ„șđ„ș"

It's truly terrifying to see people supporting this kind of thing, whether consciously or not, encouraging more people to do the same.
It's disgusting to see people applauding and gooning in the comments for artists who feed their audiences with content like this, while also normalizing this behavior, showing that the community supports rapists and abusers.
Yes, the characters are murderers, they're crazy, they can kick your ass. But they're not assaulters or rapists. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable to see my comfort character portrayed as an abuser, and it's becoming more and more common...
If we continue to support this kind of content, the entire fandom will become an even bigger shithole than it already is.
idk why some people in the Creepypasta fandom are so fucking obsessed with making the characters pedophiles, rapists, and even writing INCEST about the characters. I keep seeing blogs that write about incest between the Creepypastas, I understand the point of writing is to express yourself and what you like but it is absolutely disgusting to see those kind of fics.
and I know some people are going to be like âdonât like dont readâ and I get that but that shouldnât excuse the incest and pedophile fanfics. I 100% believe that what you write shows how you think and feel about certain stuffâso seeing people write those kind of fanfictions is absolutely fucking disgusting and you should be disgusted with yourself, because why are you so drawn to writing incest? There is so no reason for you to be writing about incest between characters (I just saw a blog that is called the-woodcest-guy and he writes NSFW INCEST ABOUT JEFF AND LIU, I blocked him)

small rant about how clockwork is treated by some people in this fandom and how itâs so normalized.
clockwork haters are so fake. âher creator sucksâ valid, but not very consistent if they also even tolerate lj, jtk, or many other characters for that matter. âsheâs a mary sue/her story sucksâ these characters arenât written by professionals, they were mostly created by tweens who make vent art who also had too much access to internet at a tender age, donât read creepypasta if you have that big of expectations, and AGAIN, jtk literally turned white after being burnt for a good bit instead of having burn scars all over. the concentrated hate on clockwork isnât on the same level as any of these characters. âshe was always a btch in reader x character storiesâ are you 10 years old. people have a tendency to punish female characters harsher than male ones who have the same problems. thatâs misogynistic. none of THOSE clockwork haters will admit that to anyone including themselves though.
i saw a comment abt her once on tiktok abt her story being just shock value, her sa not affecting her story at all, and i have a few comments on that. the story itself consists only of her origin, not really her tendencies in the future. thatâs mostly due to her story being based on the creators own trauma. criticizing a story and itâs writing is totally fine but thatâs no excuse to go under so many posts related to the character and relentlessly going âoh i hate her.â then clearly these posts arenât for you? itâs gotten to a point where i can encounter a post with her, especially ticciwork ones, that will be along the lines of âi HATEEEE clockwork sm btw. ew ew ewwww. lovely art though!â such a buzzkill and it feels so backhanded. and also, hating on a character bc they did not âreactâ to their sa based on your ideals is disgusting asf.
and with her ships, the bullshit is still there. under most posts abt her in a relationship itâs either âher creator said she isnât shipped w (character)â âitâs not canonâ âsheâs not lesbianâ âsheâs not with tobyâ yâall realize the artists within this fandom arenât stuck on invisible laws where they have to abide by creators rules, especially problematic creators. the entire âcanonâ characters are ocâs themselves. headcanons exist. thatâs where creativity stems from! itâs dumb to go under someoneâs post and say stuff like this because not only is it disrespectful to the artist or the op even if youâre just stating âfactsâ, itâs also bullshit. the entire community bases itself around headcanons.
and again, the people who comment this kind of stuff seem to have no problem being such know-it-allâs when they encounter a post that satisfies their taste. for example, no one goes to a toby x oc post and says âthatâs NOT real, NOT canon, i love toby, his creator said theyâre not even together. awesome art thoughđ«¶đŒâ . with ticciwork itâs all the same fuckery of ânot canonâ âthe creator said-â âi always hated clockworkâ etc etc. or even a less absurd example, if the same type of people see âcanon x canon charactersâ ship art (again, no one is canon LMAO) but they happen to favor the ship the same standarts arenât upheld.
this happens to many characters and artists of course but iâve seen a highly concentrated amount of this type of behavior when clockwork is involved. yâall love hating women, especially ones that donât cater to your taste or get in the way of your dumbass fictions about you getting it on with equally flawed (mostly male) characters.
tldr yâall are two faced as SHITTT and have internalized issues that you have to address before leaving hate/passive aggressive comments under 80% of posts abt characters you donât like. grow up <3
