Seeing their tree legs like that feels like looking at spider legs. I love it. I love this fact you draw them in your notebook. Thank you for sharing this fact!
Such delicious lore, such painful information.
I thank you for telling me to look into it. It hurts to see that art... But it was so good.
I feel so terrible, seeing where the promise took Cereal.
Your friend.
-SKIN ANON
Don’t worry, it’s not your fault. Cereal would have ventured back eventually, if only to see if anyone else had fallen prey to the Inventor’s tricks.
and this time around, Cereal knows what The Inventor really wants. And it knows what it wants for itself.
I am glad you enjoyed the lore, I’ve had it rolling around in my head for a while like a cursed marble, feels good to finally get it out.
apologies for hurting you, but i gotta torture my characters every now and then, keeps them interesting.
-Friend Ceni
(^im curious why you call me that, not that I mind.)
Oh, I call you friend Ceni because Ceni is short for centipede. Which is what I chalk your little character up to. At least, I think they are based off a centipede.
Ceni just sounded cute to me, so I decided to use it.

ooc: this is going to be a very long, lore heavy post. There will also be art at the end.
trigger warnings: chains, mentions of mental and psychological abuse, trauma, and descriptions of gore.
Cereal crawled out of the hole it had torn in reality, and scuttled into a familiar wasteland. Dust coated the ground, dead plants and litter were strewn everywhere, and the remains of corpses lay scattered.
This place had been beautiful once.
The amalgam could remember it clear as day- the first time it had pulled itself into the sunlight, feeling grass and mosses under its claws.
It had been brought into this world with one mission.
Destroy.
And now, as it hurried through the desolate remains, Cereal couldn’t help but feel a nagging sense of guilt.
I didn’t know any better.
That doesn’t make it right.
Red dust kept trying to wedge into the cracks of the beast’s carapace, with startling successs. It didn’t care, not now, not with the mission it had currently.
I can’t let Patch down.
The last time it was here, The Inventor was still in control. But that was long ago. Long enough that it thought- it hoped- that it might have been forgotten.
Finding the stairway down into the ground, Cereal paused, steadying its pulse before plugging in. The scent of metal filled the cold air, and it didn’t take long to find the remains of The Inventor’s work.
Mangled, mismatched bodies, hung from the ceiling by hooks or sprawled on the desks and floor, it didn’t matter. They all smelled of death.
The critter tried to ignore them. Tried to ignore the hunger that gnawed in its belly at the sight of the meat. Tried to ignore the memories this place was dragging to the surface.
You were like them once.
You were nothing but scraps. Garbage.
I made you into something. I gave you life. I gave you a chance.
Ungrateful thing.
Claws came down on a scrap of flesh, and it froze. The color of the skin matched part of the anomaly’s stitched together underbelly.
Was it the same?
Is that part of me now?
Trying to shake off the questions, it ventured deeper, the layout of this place coming as naturally as breathing. Getting to a balcony, it paused, staring down into the room below.
A familiar silhouette stood motionless, chains tethering them to the walls and floor. Messy hair shrouded their head. Their eyes were closed.
But Cereal is well aware of those eyes, bluer than the sky, and full of nothing but coldness.
Cautious, it skittered down the steps toward The Inventor.
Maybe they’re asleep?
Its claws had just hit the floor when it felt chains snag around its body, hoisting the beast off the floor. A sickeningly familiar voice rang through the room.
Ruin. How nice to see you after all this time.
The Inventor fixed Cereal with a gaze frigid enough to freeze the air solid.
Hm. I see no blood on your claws. No viscera clings to your shell.
The chains wrapped tighter, preventing it from moving or speaking at all. The Inventor reached one bound hand out, a silent promise of a fate worse than death.
It seems you’ve forgotten who you are.
Cereal knew all too well what they were capable of. It had watched firsthand as they’d done their work, tinkering with the very minds of their test subjects.
Turning them into little more than mindless beasts that wanted only to kill and to be loved by The Inventor.
*The light bathed Patch, who swings wildly into the light. Boxes easily crushed under feet. Stored furniture torn asunder by a large blade. Walls battered by pain fueled punches and swipes.*
"Interesting place. Weird place, sunless sky. people who act like friends. Feels familiar, don't it?"
*Swiping a claw-like hand outwards towards the voice, all Patch managed to catch was a taunting cackle.*
"A misfit group of strange creatures, ah I remember it like it was yesterday..."
*Clutching what Patch thinks was its flail, it swings it forth in blind rage. Smashing a bit of the ground... And the wolf. The titan yanks the item in its hand back. The flooding light dims as the wolf falls from the indent on the wall, before rising to its feet. Bits of fur missing as more hooks emerge from its body. Appearing where its ribs once were.*
"Why are you treating these ones like they are different? When you used the rest for parts."
*The creatures stare at one another, one barely visible in the blinding light its insides produce. The other weakened and slowly burning away within the others' light.*
"... You aren't made for making friends. You know this."
*Wolf awaits a response, but with a click of a tongue. It just cackled quietly under its breath.*
"Burnt into the throat did I?... Is that really why you aren't saying anything to me?"
*More silence. The wolf watches Patch. Slowly circling them with a limp. Both mangled, one by just a single blow. The other overtime by a unblock-able presence. Their fight isn't long. It won't last much longer, the two continue to stare at one another. Daring the other to move... the wolf dims the light ever slightly more.*
"Boss said to reclaim you... don't think he'll want you de-!"
*Seizing the chance before the wolf could brighten the room once more. The badly melted abomination pounced, clutching the smaller entity in what remains of its oversized hand, ignoring the hooks that stab through its flesh. Patch uses the few workable fingers of its smaller hand to gently pinch the beak shut. Dramatically dimming the room down to a comfortable darkness for itself.*
*It didn't last long, maybe an hour at most. But the fight was over, the noise was gone. The shaking calm. What happened in the basement of the headquarters was over... Patch struggles to breath as it stays there. Half collapsed with its hostage in hand.*
*it’s not long before another sound is heard. Scuttling echoes down the stairs, interrupted by a shocked squeak*
Friend Patch?
*the creature comes closer, circling Patch as if attempting to curl up around them. It pauses, and ever so gently wraps its forelimbs around the titan.*
What happened to you…?
*the smaller entity tries its best to provide some form of comfort, forelimbs in a hug and secondary legs gently poking around to try and find any other unseen injuries.*
No, no, no, don’t be dead. Don’t die on me, I can’t lose you. Please…
*Patch stays in place, music cylinder. Once playing a full tune, was reduced to occasionally plucking a single note. The titan gently leans towards the smaller entity. Doing its best not to collapse onto them. Their single wing was on the ground, more a pile of melted flesh than a wing. Their mantis-claw was stuck, stabbed into a wall. Having be torn off when the joint connecting it to the main body was weakened.*
*Where there were once multiple legs, there appeared only two. As a silhouette, one could mistake Patch for a human. The other legs, that were lost in the scuffle. Lay on the basement floor, the most intact one had its' bark appear 'flaky'. The least intact one... was just the stump of a foot, buried in the melted remains of its leg.
"I... hurt... but alive..."
*The weak voice softly says as eyes, not as many as there were before. Slowly opened up from within the cracks, seams, and wounds that plagued its' body.*
"Bearer of light... happened... one who attacked Cheeky."
*Lowering its arms, slowly. It rests the mushy, mostly melted limbs against the ground, giving Ceni a easier sight of the creature held prisoner by them.*
"Wolf... Younger sibling, Tracker..."
*Said Wolf squirms in Patchs' grip. Hooks piercing flesh, tearing through the melted hand like butter. But getting stuck after the fact.*
*The Floor of the basement was flooded in Patchs' blood. A liquid darker than the darkness that filled the room. It did not stick, it only flowed.*
*as soon as it sees the Wolf in Patch’s grasp, rage floods its dark eyes, and the anomaly pounces, serrated forelimbs at their throat*
You.
*the rest of the creature’s body unravels from around Patch, moving to help pin down the Wolf. Fury is clear in each movement it makes, and it’s clearer than ever that the beast was a monster of war. Mandibles click just above the hostage’s head, a quiet threat.*
Hurt Cheeky. Hurt Patch. I will make sure you never hurt anyone ever again.
*there’s a new sound, underneath its usual clicks, almost like machinery. A pure hatred that belongs in the flames of the primordial flickers in its eyes.*
*It is unclear what emotion the Wolf had in face of the beasts' fury, due to not having any visible eyes. But still, they stiffen every limb, ceases moving their hooks...*
"N-not here, not yet Please. Light within them, may bleed out... not yet."
*The voices croaked as Patch watches both their friend and their enemy... with a collection of fearful, pained, furious... and sad eyes. Liquid drips down the colossus, leaking not from wounds. But from the eyes. From each and every eye that dots its body.*
"Punishment is due... but they are weak, no longer a threat now that we caught them. Only hooks and light..."
*The remains of a oversized thumb moves over to hold the Wolfs' beak shut, letting the titan reach to gently pet cereal anomaly with the burnt manikin arm. Its' wood-like joints creaking terribly as Patch pushes through the pain to try and console their friend.*
"We are okay... Friend Ceni."
"Ceni... Friend Ceni..."
*The manikin arm continues to, as softly as it can. Brush against Cereal anomalys' back. Patch speaks softly, barely paying attention to Wolf as it squirms in their grip.*
"I'll be okay... I just need to heal. He only got the jump on Cheeky because she didn't know... and how could she know? I should've warned them..."
*Weakly, softly. The injured titan did their best to pull the friend into a hug with its free arm. Resting what remains of its half melted head onto Ceni. Not resting all of its weight, just some of it. Their tears just keep falling...*
"He only got the jump on me... because I assumed he couldn't find this place... I will not let him hurt anyone else."
*The oversized arm shakes, the prisoner in its grip was squeezed. Not enough to break anything, not loudly at least. Just enough force to get him to stop squirming.*
"The wolf is the only one of my siblings who can hurt me like this... We'll be okay, promise."
*the creature stills, and wraps its coils around the injured titan again. Concern is visible in its eyes, and the beast gently pulls closer, attempting to hug the much larger friend.*
…promise? I- Patch, I can’t do this without you-
*there’s a muffled noise, and something cold drips down its face and mandibles. Tears.*
I don’t think I ever said it out loud, but thank you.
*the amalgam tries its best not to hurt the injured titan, even though it’s shaking slightly now*
*The body of the titan creaks as it bends down as much it can. To aid their much smaller friend in hugging them. Despite not being able to hug around it completely. The creature could feel the slight shaking. Patch was doing their best not to move, both to not cause itself harm. And not to harm their friend.*
"We promise... Friend Ceni, we p-promise."
*The eyes that which still could move, watched at the amalgam cried. And cried alongside it.*
"And thank you for being our friend."
*The titans' body creaks as it settles into place. Using its' remaining arms as best it could to return the hug. They almost didn't want the hug to end.*
*The titans' fur, on the bits of the torso not melted or burnt. Were itchy rough, and uncomfortably dense. They gave off very faint heat. Not enough to be called warm, but just enough to notice within the cold basement.*
*the critter gently leans its head against the titan’s chest, forelimbs tucked around the injured friend. The quiet rattling of the gearbox that acts as its heart slows a little, the anomaly doing its best to calm down.*
If there’s anything I can do to help fix this, please let me know. I don’t like seeing you in pain like this…
*it glances at the Wolf, antennae flicking back like the ears of an angry cat. Even unspoken, the amalgam clearly hates the thing for hurting Patch.*
*Patch quietly rumbled in thought, with the critter resting Its head on their chest. It could better hear the tune. Not from the cylinder, no. A gentle hum echoed within the Titan. Masked by the creaking of their body, and the noises of the basement.*
*Not a hum of machinery. A delicately quiet, rasping hum. That fed a bittersweet feeling to those who hear it. A tune to bring comfort, yet sung with great difficulty.*
"I appreciate the thought... but... I don't know how you can help, friend. M-maybe if you find sibling Fox?... Don't know if he is even here..."
*The prisoner shifts their ears, pointing the jagged things right at the critter. They wiggled tauntingly... at least, that could be why Wolf is wiggling them so much.*
"You... could find r-replacement... limbs... Though finding ones my size... I do nn-not know where you'd even look."
*The voices shuddered somewhat, unsure if it was wrong to ask for body parts. A painful shuddering breath followed their words. Patch shifts their body this way in that, creaking terribly as it silently ponders something... the eyes all focusing onto the prisoner in their grip.*
"... You could... inform our modling friends. Warn them of our... troublesome guest... A-at least tell them not to turn the lights on if they c-come down here."
*The light bathed Patch, who swings wildly into the light. Boxes easily crushed under feet. Stored furniture torn asunder by a large blade. Walls battered by pain fueled punches and swipes.*
