All you have to do is ask people to do you a favour smaller than what you've done for them. Their response determines how much value they place on your kindness. #morningslikethis #newmotive https://www.instagram.com/p/BrFe379lumy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=u49a3bjcka1v

A year older and many more years of learning and growing, to come. They say I have 9 lives but I think I was just lucky to have the best family and friends around me all the time - in good and bad. I'm dedicating my birthday to all the homeless veterans who sacrificed their lives for the comfort of others. They're out there cold, with no family nor friends and they need us. Please go to the link and show them some love. https://www.gofundme.com/homeless-veterans-uk-amp-n-ireland #birthday #veterans #homelessness #sacrifice #proudveteran #proudtohaveserved #weremember https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp1ctoPFMKD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=i0oazhcv3gw6

Fighting an Uphill Battle with IS, Crises dominates World stage
Crises and rumours of such have been dominating the media for some time now. The Russian v Ukraine, Israel v Palestine, ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Libya, Sudan and the list goes on. Within these region, there are young people who are the future leaders of their country who can help make the difference in their country. They cannot do this by being divided, but by working together. That fact is – there is a war going on and our current leaders are asleep. We need to equip out young with the requisite tools that they need to unite them in this fight to not only secure their future, but put an end to those who do not care about their local interest.
The question is – what brought this issue to the crossroad? Its implications for the immediate future as well as the long term must be studied at great length. Why must we look to the young as our hope for the future? Why can we not lobby the World Leaders, The various institutions, the United Nations to take a firm stand against the atrocities that are taking place around the world? The answer is simple – we absolutely cannot! When we have world leaders announcing publicly that we cannot denounce the atrocities committed by for example Israel because she is an ‘Ally’, we know that we are in serious trouble. I believe it is clear to us that we live in an era of weak leaders and very few role models. Unfortunately, this has bred zeal, dogma and even the likes of barbarism, extremism and terrorism to rise and appeal to our youths. We cannot afford for this continue.
The reliance on young emerging leaders are more needed than ever before. Groups such as IS or ISIS who carry out vicious and voracious acts of barbarity on humanity, have within its ranks, more youths than they do traditional elders. We have noticed that these militant groups are preoccupied with the recruiting of what I would call ‘replacements’ for the older generation. They have got the idea right and we just don’t. They have people who are prepared to stand boldly in front of a camera, behead hundreds of innocent civilian and even crucify them. The fear factor no longer applies to them. These hard line criminals don’t just know how to kill, they are skilled, intelligent, tech experts and they are still developing. They have the tools necessary to recruit – may not be on a large scale for now, but, their methods are successful. On the other hand, we have leaders who are filled with trepidation. They are more concerned about an ally rather than protecting the interest of the local people. Just imagine for a minute if we have 7 young influential ‘IS’ recruiters returning to the UK. Each occupy a different part of the city where Islam thrives. Over a 3 month period, they could recruit hundreds if not thousands of other young people to join the cause for the establishment of this Islamic State! At the end, as some commentators have already pointed out, should IS be pushed back, these very same people will attempt to return to the UK, to incorporate themselves back into normal life or, wreak havoc amongst the local populace.
The answer is simple. At best, many countries love to be politically correct. However, in this case, Britain is the master at this game. It is only a matter of time before we concede that our country no longer remains a country of influence.. Our foreign policy is almost non-existent. For example, we currently do not have an Iraq or Libya policy and, as for Palestine, well… Israel is an ally so that doesn’t count. We clearly don’t have an IS policy. So where does this leave us? Yes, we must learn from past misadventures but, we cannot dare continue to let ‘prudence’ take the driving seat in matters concerning foreign policy. We need to stop IS for the good of the people! Their vain efforts to establish this caliphate and wipe the nations of anything but ‘pure Muslims’ have not only been denounced by Muslims within the International Community but by the United Nations as well. Although it shows how very little they understand Islam, what it shows, is how much they are willing to fight for what they believe in. what hope are we giving out people to believe in? We cannot just tell them to pick up arms and fight without a reason. As much as these hardliners are passionate about what they do, our people need to find that passion as well. We need to start relying on our younger generation to get more involved in issues that immediately affects us as a country locally and internationally. Otherwise, we are a nation destined for damnation. The end result will be catastrophic.
The Friend
Many times you’re encountered with clichés relating to how friendships blossom, people’s personality, how they influence each other – directly and indirectly. You, like myself may have asked yourself over and over, why so much emphasis is often placed on friendships. Indeed, it may be forthcoming to the individuals involved at the time that the feelings is mutual. However, this view can be very subjective. Four months ago, I met someone who I now consider my friend, who, before, I only knew very little about. Our worlds didn’t co-exist.
I love people with personality – who can adapt to any given situation and are generally people’s person. When I met this friend, at first glance, you would think that they were shallow and educationally inept but, if you look beyond the surface, beneath the bravado and machoism, there was a soul waiting to be discovered. It was buried so deep behind walls of trepidation and constant battles to hide their true calling that it was almost difficult to reach it. Yet, this soul was speaking to me. With time, the friendship in my estimation grew and I never thought that in such short space of time that I would find someone who I would be willing to open up to and easily trust. Knowing myself, I am ever so cautious about who I relate to and can be considered an introvert. But, with this friend, it was as though all walls were broken down. Whilst my walls came tumbling down, it was a challenge to get them to remove their walls and start being themselves.
Living in a cosmopolitan society, one would think that it would be simple for every person to be who they are. Unfortunately, society uses extreme sophistry to cower people away from living to their true potential. I have a penchant for success and when I identify someone with the ability to reach far and achieve great things, yet smother their ability, it is like piercing my heart with a 10 inch spike. For whatever reason, my friend was afraid of letting go and unleashing themselves into the world. The last time I saw such potential in an individual, they went on to become a very successful lawyer in the attorney general chambers. You may read this and wonder why I took a liking to this person. But, we can never fathom what destiny has in store for us and who is going to walk into our lives. Some are going to be positive and willing to work with you and the others, drag you to the bottom of the ocean. Although sometimes I wonder whether or not this individual values the friendship as much as I do, I don’t think the onus is on me to convince them that I am the world greatest friend or person. They’re lost and I believe it is my duty to help them find their right footing. They have a positive spirit and their aura is powerful. This is good going but not enough to give them the self – confidence they need to take risks, to live a little and to reach out. They’re scared about the inevitable. Smart, charismatic, intelligent, sound character and deportment, yet they lack that vision on their screen and I hope that I could help them find that before total destruction.
We all have that friend that we want to hold on to forever, the one we want to be there for and knowing that this is reciprocated. It shouldn’t matter what point they came into your life – what matters is, when you’re downcast, you wouldn’t be seeking relief by pouring your heart in tales of grief. But, the moment you think of or begin to aimlessly wonder, you will end up knocking at their door. How do you feel about your friend?
