Recently I listened to this cover and was really moved by the lyrics. Honestly, if I couldn’t understand the lyrics at all, I would probably find the song nice but that’s it... in my opinion, there are many sad/bittersweet songs with a similar feel, so it doesn’t exactly stand out to me. But the 5th? stanza, about how the singer just wants the person they like to notice their haircut, just hit me in the feels, and I kind of fell in love with the song. I love the heartfelt earnestness of the lyrics and the quiet, selfless strength of the speaker.
本当はもう分かってたの
あなたがどんなに
その人が好きなのかも
The truth is, I already knew
Exactly how much
You love that person
となりにいる私じゃ
勝ち目が無いって事も
本当はもう知ってたの
あなたが恋に落ちてゆく
その横で私は そっとあなたに恋をしていたの
何にも気付かないで笑うあなたの
横顔をずっと見ていました
最初から
And how I don’t even have a chance
I, who have always been right next to you
The truth is, I already knew
You’re falling more and more in love
And from the sidelines, I was Quietly falling in love with you
I was always watching you (your face from the side)
As you laughed without noticing a thing
From the very beginning
Notes:
勝ち目: chance of success
あなたの幸せしか願っていないから
それがたとえ私じゃないとしても
ちゃんと最後は
隠した想いが見つからないように
横から背中押すから
誰よりも幸せにしてあげて
I’ve only ever wished for your happiness, so
Even if it’s not with me
In the end
So that the feelings I hid won’t be found
I’ll definitely give you a push from behind (push your back from the side)
I’ll make sure you become the happiest person in the world
Notes:
I think 最後は connects with 背中押す here.
I’m a little uncertain about the meaning of the last line. It’s possible the speaker is telling "your” lover to make "you” happier than anyone else, but I think the speaker has been talking to "you” the entire song, so they wouldn’t switch to speaking directly to "your” lover there.
あなたが今しているのは
私が一番聞きたくない話なのに
それでも聞き続けるのは
あなたに会えなくなるよりは
まだ少しだけましだから
What you’re saying now is
The thing I want to hear the least
But even so, continuing to listen is
Just slightly better than
Not being able to see you at all
Notes:
まし (na-adj): preferable
私が聞きたかったのは
終電の時間でも
好きな人の悪口でもなくて
せめて今日のために切った 髪に気付いて
似合ってるよって言ってほしかった
最初から
What I wanted to hear was
Not the time of the last train
Or complaints about the person you like
At the very least, notice the haircut I got Just for today
I wanted you to say, “It looks great on you”
From the very beginning
あなたの幸せしか願っていないから
それがたとえ私じゃないとしても
ちゃんと最後は
隠した想いが見つからないように
横から背中押すから
もう少しここにいて
I’ve only ever wished for your happiness, so
Even if it’s not with me
In the end
So that the feelings I hid won’t be found
I’ll definitely give you a push from behind (push your back from the side)
So please stay just a little longer
こんなに好きになる前に
どこかで手は打てなかったのかな
私が選んで望んで恋したんだから
叶わなくても
気持ちが伝えられなくても
こんな気持ちになれた事を 大切にしたい
本当だよ
Before I fell in love with you
I don’t think I would have been able to do so much for you
This was my choice, my hopes, my love
And so even if my wish won’t come true
Even if I can’t ever convey my feelings to you
I want to cherish the fact That I was able to feel this way at all
That’s the truth of it
Notes:
手を打つ: 1) to clap your hands
2) to come to an agreement
3) to take measures for anticipated events
I’m not completely sure, but I think definition 3 makes the most sense here... Also I think どこか isn’t referring to a physical place here. So lines 1 and 2 probably mean, “before I fell this much in love with you, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do some of the things I’ve done (to help you with your relationship with the person you like)”
Line 3 is also a bit hard to interpret, but I did my best. I think 私が is putting emphasis on 私 here.
会いたくて
でも ほら横にいても
また辛くなってる
その人より私の方が先に
好きになったのになぁ
I want to see you
But see, even if you’re by my side
I’ll start feeling heartbroken again
You know, I was the one
Who fell in love with you first
でも私があなたを好きなくらい
あなたも想っているなら
私じゃやっぱりダメだね
最初から
But if you love that person
As much as I love you
Then I’m obviously not the one for you, am I?
From the very beginning
Notes:
I think the only way this stanza makes sense is if the second line is あなたもその人を想っているなら (if you also think of that person this way).
あなたの幸せしか願っていないから
それがたとえ私じゃないとしても
ちゃんと最後は
隠した想いが見つからないように
横から背中押すから
誰よりも幸せにしてあげて
I’ve only ever wished for your happiness, so
Even if it’s not with me
In the end
So that the feelings I hid won’t be found
I’ll definitely give you a push from behind (push your back from the side)
I’ll make sure you become the happiest person in the world

I really like Roselia’s songs. Since “BLACK SHOUT” isn’t way beyond my current level (like “Passionate Starmine” is...), I decided to try translating it. It was still pretty difficult though. Even though I can figure out the meaning of every line, often the subject, topic, etc. is missing or implied, so I need to make an assumption so that the lyrics flow more smoothly. Without the intuition of a native speaker, there’s no way I can be sure my assumptions are correct... (Assumptions are in parentheses).

[SHOUT] I'll reply to my true self
【BLACK】嘆くよりずっと大事で
[BLACK] This is much more important than regret
Notes:
在り来たり(ありきたり)(noun, na-adj): ordinary
In line 2, I believe the sentence ends with 嫌なの because, if 嫌 modified 全て, it would be 嫌な全て.
In line 3, I'm not sure what the verb is after 同じに.
高らか (na-adj): loud, sonorous, ringing
本音(ね): true intentions/opinions
嘆(なげ)く: to lament, regret
Because より is there... ずっと probably means "much more" here.

熱く鳴らしたんだ
(This black shout) rang out passionately
Notes:
According to this, if I'm understanding it properly, 凛と can mean tense, resounding, or bitingly cold. I feel like "resounding" fits the most here, but "tense" could also be possible...
しがらみから【hinder】
From (my) bonds [hinder]
解き放つ今【relight】
(I will) be free now [relight]
ニセモノには【don't go】
I don't want to become [don't go]

輝いて姿
Shining form

Seize the future With determined hands
【SHOUT!】
[SHOUT!]
Notes:
しがらみ: bonds, ties of obligation
解(と)き放つ: to release
甘え (noun): lack of self-reliance; dependence on others
I'm a little confused about why the te-form is used in 輝いて姿. It could mean something like "shine, (my) form" but that seems a little strange...
決意(けつい): determination, resolution
手の平(ひら): palm
揺らぐ視線【残像】
(Despite my) wavering gaze [afterimage]
守るように【一層】

勇気で繋ぐから
Because our courage connects us
Notes:
揺らぐ: similar to 揺れる (intrans)

So I'm kind of obsessed with Gintama and I stumbled across this Youtube video... The song is catchy and the lyrics are amusing, so I wanted to try making a translation. It's amazing how the singers sound just like the (Japanese) voice actors...
The version of Gintama I watched was subbed by Rumbel fan subs I think? So some lines that came from the anime might coincidentally be similar to their subtitles.

Since there's an event in School Idol Festival going on at the moment involving this song, I played it many times and started wanting to know what it meant. So, here's my translation. Thanks to the few people who answered my questions on a few lines that were difficult to figure out.
Since I'm practicing my Japanese, I tried to translate literally, with only minor cosmetic adjustments. Sometimes the subject, etc. were not clear, so I guessed as well as I could.
Lyrics and alternate translation here.
Japanese English 離れない…と
指先であなたへ伝えたいの I want to convey to you with my fingertips... that we won’t be apart 夢語る あなたの中に
消えない情熱感じながら
ついて行く私のことを
少しだけ 気にして欲しくなる Describing a dream Inside you
While feeling passion that won’t disappear
Following you, I start wanting you to pay attention to me
Just a little 一緒に時を駆け抜けたい
涙に濡れても 私は悔やまないわ I want to race together through time
Even if (my face) grows wet from tears, I won’t regret it 離れない…と
指先であなたへ伝えたいの

同じ星が見たい I want to convey to you with my fingertips... that we won’t be apart
In love, I tremble and burn up
I want to gaze at the same stars 愛されて でも寂しくて
優しさ求めるお互いが
生み出せる未来があると
信じてるの だからもう迷わない I am loved, but I’m lonely
Each of us, seeking kindness,
Believe that a future we can create exists
So we won’t hesitate anymore どんな明日探していても
傷ついた心 包みこんであげたい No matter what kind of tomorrow (you’re) searching for
I want to embrace your injured heart 抱きしめたら熱くなる
好きです…と騒ぐ鼓動
黙り込む二人には
細い月の明かり If I hug you tightly, I heat up
“I like you”... my heartbeat pounds
Inside the two of us, who have lapsed into silence, is the light of a slender moon 涙に濡れても 私は悔やまないわ Even if (my face) grows wet from tears, I won’t regret it 離れない…と

Introduction
I like listening to songs while knowing what the lyrics mean. Knowing the meaning behind the words really enhances my listening experience. Since I'm learning Japanese, I find it fun to try translating Japanese songs. Instead of trusting a translation done by some person online I know nothing about, why not try figuring out the meaning myself? Since I know the meaning of most of the words in this song, I thought I wouldn't do a completely horrible job if I tried translating it (although, I still have trouble figuring out where the sentence boundaries are in songs). Many of the translations I found online also seemed slightly off. Those are the reasons why I'm going to try translating it myself.
I'm going to try rearranging the lyrics into sentences and filling in some missing parts so the sentence is clearer to me. Of course other choices are possible, and the parts I add in might not fit the context, formality, etc. Just don't take it too seriously.

This video's Chinese translation was used for reference
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、(僕は)素敵なあなたに歌われたいよ
Translation: I forget about the world, tears, and strength, (and) want to be sung to by the lovely you.
Notes: According to this, the passive form of 歌う should be 歌われる, the subject (は) should be the one being sung to, and に marks the doer of the verb.
Interpretation: Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to sing to me.
僕の歌の中には、ありふれた嘘つきだけが心を動かそうとしている
Translation: Inside my songs, only cliched liars have tried to move hearts.
Notes: According to this, volitional form + とする means you're attempting to do the verb (動かす).
Questions: Whose heart is being moved here?
Interpretation: Inside my songs, only cliched liars have tried to move people's hearts.
だけど知っているんだ
Translation: But I know (probably, the sentence below)
魔物は心の中だよ
Translation: Two possible interpretations here...
1. The monster is the inside of my heart.
2. There are monsters inside my heart.
Interpretation: There are monsters inside my heart.
臆病な自分だけが答え(です)か?
Translation: Is only my cowardly self the answer?
Interpretation: Is being cowardly the only answer?
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、素敵なあなたに歌われたいよ
(repeat) Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to sing to me.
僕の歌の中には、(僕は)大人のような子供のような不安をごまかそうとしている
Translation: In my songs, (I) have tried to avoid grown-up and childlike uneasiness.
Notes: The な makes it seem like the phrase is modifying another noun. I'm not sure if that's the proper way to connect the two ような phrases though... Unless the first one is modifying 子供 in the second one, which is modifying 不安...?
だけど知っているんだ
(repeat) But I know (probably, the sentence below)
みんなも同じ穴の中(にいる)
Translation: Everyone is inside the same hole.
「一人(では)探せないよ」(は)答えだ
Translation: The answer is that (one) can't search alone.
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、素敵なあなたに歌われたいよ
(repeat) Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to sing to me.
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、素敵なあなたに笑われたいよ
Translation: (I) forget about the world, tears, and strength, (and) want the lovely you to laugh.
Note: According to this, it looks like an intransitive verb in passive form is used to mean that the action of the doer of the verb affected you, often negatively. I'm a little confused because my dictionary says 笑う is an intransitive verb, but I see examples where it is used with を. There is an example here though where に is used to indicate what is being laughed at.
Interpretation: Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to laugh.
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、素敵なあなたに歌われたいよ
(repeat) Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to sing to me.
世界も涙も強さも忘れて、素敵なあなたに笑われたいよ
(repeat) Forgetting about the world, tears, and strength, I just want the lovely you to laugh.
メラメラしたいよ
Translation: I want to burst into flames.
Note: I'm guessing メラメラする means to burst into flames and not to make something burst into flames.
Interpretation: I want to flare up with passion.
キラキラしたいよ
Translation: I want to shine.
送僕には斧見えないアナタMAGIC
Translation: The magic of you is not visible in myself.
Note: According to this, ~に見える means to look; to seem; to appear. I don't think "does not look like me" fits here though.

Story: I tried reading the main story, but nothing interesting ever happened, so now I skip everything. The individual characters' side stories are a little better, but sometimes it feels... kind of... as if the app is targeting males? As in, the characters act like the player is a guy they have a crush on. Which I don't like that much.
Art: Pretty.
Gameplay:
Live shows: It's surprisingly enjoyable to tap along with the music. Most of the songs sound all right to me, but some have gradually grown on me (and some I've come to dislike). In each live show, you're graded on your combo count and score (from card stats and score boosting skills). I kind of dislike the combo count system because it causes me to feel pressure about getting every single tap perfect in order to get S rank for a song. It is quite discouraging when you miss only one or two taps in the middle of the song and end up getting a low combo count and a C rank (or no rank).
Stamina(LP): I've advanced to the point where only Hard level songs are enough of a challenge for me to enjoy. It's kind of ridiculous that it takes perhaps 6 hours for your stamina to completely recover, but you can only play 4 live shows with that stamina... which is definitely not more than 10 minutes of game time. It's frustrating to have to wait so long to only be able to play 10 minutes... (since I'm not spending money buying love gems, I don't spend love gems to refill my LP). I would rather play once a day for 30+ minutes than play a few times a day for 10 minutes each.
Events: They're fine, but you usually don't get to choose the song you want to play, so sometimes you end up playing a song you hate over and over again. It seems like you need to play a lot and collect a ridiculous amount of points to get a reward that's even remotely good. For a casual player like me who doesn't want to only play the event the entire time it's going on... well, I haven't been able to get anything good. But I don't mind too much. In some events, your score or combo count is compared with that of 3 other players, but I don't really feel that much pressure to do well, so it's fine.
Scouting: Once you get a few SR and SSR cards, you'll pretty much be able to get S rank score on Normal and Hard level songs, so I don't really feel the urge to scout often. I don't have a favorite girl and I don't particularly want any cards, so scouting is never super disappointing to me. Compared to Puzzle and Dragons, scouting in this game doesn't make me feel horrible and disappointed. The rates are pretty low, but I'm satsified with being guaranteed an SR+ in 11 rolls.
Leveling cards: The system was a little confusing to me at first because it's not very intuitive what "Practice" and "Special Practice" actually do to your cards. (I mean, in real life what kind of practice partner only ever practices with you once? And why would you ever practice with some random person in your school instead of your club members?) It takes quite a while to feed your cards up to max level. Repeatedly regular scouting, then clicking auto feed gets tedious and boring quickly. It's also annoying that you can't filter out cards with the same skill to feed to level another card's skill. Although I'm not too sure how much leveling R cards' skills matter.
Overall, a cute and lighthearted anime about school idols. It was nice to watch but not particularly amazing.
Most of the songs sounded all right to me, but a few were catchy. Their dancing was all right, but I wasn't particularly impressed.
Most of the characters were likeable. Except for...
I genuinely liked how Nozomi would give the characters gentle suggestions to bring them together, but I was put off by how often she would (threaten to) grope other characters. It's probably meant to be funny, but it seemed more tasteless than funny to me.
Nico just seemed arrogant and self-absorbed. Her "Nico Nico niiii" screeching was quite annoying, and so were her attempts to draw attention to herself and make herself seem better than the others. It's a little sad, really, how her schemes fall flat and are ignored by the other characters.
Honoka was a great main character. Her enthusiasm, cuteness, and clumsiness made her endearing, and she truly was the heart and soul of the group. (Although, I started the second season and I don't think she would make a good student council president at all) When my friend first told me about the plot of Love Live, it didn't sound like it would be a very good story, but Honoka pulled it off and made the anime better than I expected.
I found myself tearing up at some emotional moments in the story, such as the fight between Honoka and Kotori.
I don't think it's very realistic for Rin to go from being unable to do the splits to being able to go down all the way. If I remember correctly, Eli only trained them for a few weeks... I also had doubts about how Muse was able to become so popular after posting only one or two videos online. Then again, I tend to pay too much attention to small details like this.
te-form + から: similar to after, but conveys a stronger and more immediate relation btwn the two events; often used when previous action needs to be completed for next action to start
(first verb's) stem + ながら: first verb takes place simultaneously as second verb
