I love how we see Will “aching” for Hannibal in 3x09 but Will doesn’t know what the feeling is

and then when Bedelia asks him in 3x12

And the fucking background goes black and it zooms in on his face and he’s got those tears brimming in his eyes with that realization of “Oh…that’s what the feeling is” after like 7 YEARS AND ITS JUST THE MOST DRAMATIC FUCKING THING EVER

So I saw this post of some awesome Hannibal auction winnings which included this image:

And it became a thread, and I half-jokingly said “I should write the thing” and a few people (including @damnslippyplanet who gave me a title) said “Kare write the thing.”

But then the thing became a Thing and now it’s actually a fic, with a second part forthcoming, and there are FEELINGS, because Hannibal Lecter can’t even send a dickpic without making it a metaphor.

Interviewer: Hannibal is so far from normal, and yet he does seem to have genuine emotion for people…

Mads Mikkelsen: I think the way we’ve done it so far, and this is the way we’re going to continue, is that he has never emotionally lied. There’s no scene where he’s been lying with his emotions. The thing is, he contains all the empathy in the world, but he’s not at the mercy of his empathy. He controls it. He chooses when to be happy, when to be sad, when to be melancholic, but they are all true and honest feelings. The people [in that house] all meant a tremendous amount to him, but at the same time, they wouldn’t listen! So there’s got to be another family out there for him.
