You walk in to find papers scattered all over the floor, shards of broken glass - someone is angry, and you're scared its to do with you. "You're home." You look towards the man standing with his back to you, towards the fire. "I am" you eventually reply, not sure what else to really say, you'll find out soon enough. "You're wondering what happened here." It wasn't a question, so you don't confirm or deny anything. Walking forward, you step on a broken glass, the man in front turns to face you. His tall, lean body towering over yours, his blue orbs staring into yours. "Where were you today?" "At work." "Anywhere else?" You know better than to lie, so you take a deep breath, and reply "I met someone for a coffee - he was helping me with a case." As a forensic scientist, it's you're Job to decipher evidence, but lately you've been more involved with a case, a case that seemingly has something to do with the man you love. "I don't want you to get involved with anything to do with this case. Understand?" He closes the distance, drawing you into his chest, "because if anything happened to you, I would be lose all humanity." "It's my job though." "Your job, is to stay right here - with me, and nothing else." Ideals for Women

I said once to my family that I wanted to be the Prime Minister one day, and my dad just stood laughing. When I asked him why, his response: 'You are a girl, and an asian one at that. It can't happen, stop being unrealistic.' It really made me think, what as humans do we think is so unrealistic? I mean some things are impossible, but unrealistic doesn't mean impossible, it means society condemns it, it means it hasn't really happened before, it means people don't know what you're even talking about. Let's talk about this, the first thing he said was 'because you're a girl' Margaret Thatcher? Granted many will say she was not exactly a role model, but she was a women in power, a woman who people hate because of her status as the 'Iron Lady' because all the things she did to upset people, but they wouldn't be here to hate her if she hadn't taken her life seriously enough to get there. Being a woman is the most empowering thing in itself, so many ideals even now in this day and age, so many stereotypes, and to rise above all of that, to hold your own ground and establish ourselves not as women, but as people - as humans, is the most empowering thing anyone can do. If only my dad understood that.
