a sailor's last prayer
[meme from Queer Eye in which Antoni Porowski is speaking and his caption has been altered to say A writing process is something that can actually be so personal]
For example, I do most of my writing in my head before I ever start putting words down. I draft, writer, rewrite, find better phrases, put things in different orders, cut things, and add things in all in my head. I think my story before I ever tell it, and so when I get to the point of sitting down at a keyboard, all that's left for me to do is transcribe it.
Other people need to use a pen or a pencil and write their story into a notebook. They need to feel the words flowing out across the page. They need to be able to cross things out, draw arrows, circle paragraphs and number them into a better order.
Still other people need a digital document so they can copy/paste or cut and move. They need to be able to comment their drafts, use different colours, change the fonts when they get stuck to see if that jogs something loose.
Maybe one of these is how you roll. Maybe you do a bit of each one. Maybe you do something else entirely. The great thing is, there is no "right" way to do it. There's just the way that works for you.

i eat 15 apples for breakfast then drive myself to the hospital just to watch the doctors get blasted backward into the drywall bc they cant withstand my aura
cant get sentences like this anywhere else
why does even the most basic form of existence exhaust me so much. my friend loves to go to events and talk to strangers and really be in the midst of things and i can’t fathom how she doesn’t want to just go home and collapse in her bedroom. how brushing her teeth in the morning doesn’t use up all the energy she has for the day. how she can just live continuously, on and on, wanting to even. it’s like other people are born knowing how to float through it all whereas i seem to be perpetually sinking
*gathers all of the people in the world who write the number 7 with a little dash in the center of it so I can study them like little critters and find out what makes them do that*

please be patient with me i am experiencing horrors unknown to you at all times
