Tom Cruise was originally going to play a background character in the film, but Director Harold Becker was so impressed by the way he conducted himself as one of the military cadets during rehearsals that he was offered the part of David Shawn. At first Cruise refused and then was finally convinced by Becker and Producer Stanley R. Jaffe play the role.

Under the Stars ||

"Liebchen, wach auf."

Soft lips pressed against the tender flesh of Thoro’s neck, rousing him from the deeper sleep but nothing more.  The Cloud Walker remained still next to his lover who insisted on waking his love with yet another kiss, this time a little more closer to the jaw and just near the throat.

"Wachen Sie auf, Thoro," whispered Andreas after he pulled back enough to nuzzle his mate with his nose.  "Es ist nicht so heiß."

"Nein… ich muss schlafen…"

"No you don’t."  Andreas chuckled as he slid his hand across Thoro’s chest and along the other side of Thoro’s neck and to his cheek, which he massaged in tender circles.  Scooting closer, Andreas pressed loving kisses along Thoro’s cheek, right up to his eyebrow where he stopped and simply combed his lover’s hair with his fingers.

As this was occurring, Thoro moaned drowsily and turned his head to meet some of those touches.  Already his hand was sneaking towards Andreas’ waist, which he caught and used to pull himself over and onto Andreas.  Thoro grinned playfully as he pushed Andreas into the soft grass and tried to ignore the fact that his mate was positively shining with carnal desires.  Even now that beautiful man beneath him had pushed himself up enough to where he could continue to tease Thoro with nips at his ear and gentle nibbles along his tender flesh.

"It's quite stunning, isn't it?"

"It is, and I’m glad that we’ve got a clear sky to watch the aurora." 

Valdar’s gaze remained on the night sky where beautiful ribbons of green and white danced across the heavens.  “It’s not terribly common for the borealis to reach this far south in the hemisphere and I must say, the ones where I lived were far more spectacular.  This, this just makes me homesick.  What about you though, is this the first time that you’ve seen them?”

"Nah, when we went to Norway - my boss and me - we had a camp out to watch them, all night long. Kinda ruins it when she kept insisting on setting up more equipment and taking readings though." Darcy’s nose wrinkled at the memory, before she let out a huff. "It’s a lot nicer like this, without the science! interruptions."

She tore her eyes from the sky for a second to glance at the guy, tongue clucking once in her mouth. “So, where are you from that makes ‘em so much better?”

"Readings?" Valdar cocked his head to the side and furrowed his brow. "Readings for what? I know they possess a great deal of energy, but I haven't seen anyone try to do anything with it. They are, after all, occuring on the outside of earth." He sighed happily, agreeing with Darcy completely. "They really are. Norway, I've been there and the lights are spectacular, though there are many other fascinating things about that country than just the borealis."

Giving a light shrug of his shoulders, Valdar said, "I come from Iceland. I spent a while on Greenland too and left my northern home to pursue a career in aviation. I am now a bush pilot and get to travel from various places, mostly Canada, across Greenland, Iceland, and the British Isles. I am valdar, by the way. What's your name?"
