Hey, there are a handful of people who still follow this blog, right? If I made a toon on FFXIV that was loosely inspired by ATS, what in-game race would you suggest I use?

Last and also least, it’s a sketch draft for my part in the birthday collab for Ask-Trixie, a better picture that contains everything in this sketch, but in an improved, finalized form (including the absent-here detail of the black outlines and white-line highlights Trixie used at the time being used on Trixie, but not on Twilight in an effort to preserve the each-character-being-their-own-thing idea from the composition).

Welcome to day two of the ATS Stray Art Roundup! Also known as “the second and final time this roundup had anything remotely worth showing off.” Seriously, don’t get your hopes up for the rest of this thing. We’re going in descending order of “being worth seeing,” since for all I know people are gonna be unfollowing when this crap reminds them that they are, in fact, following this blog.

This one was clearly a Golden Oaks Mafia thing of some kind that I, for whatever reason, decided to sketch out and then do lines and color on tracing paper. Why? I have no idea. It clearly enabled me to do the outlines in darker-but-the-same colors like the show does, but I could have done that in Paint Tool Sai. Maybe I wasn’t able to use the tablet at the time? No idea.

Regardless, here it is. Don’t ask me what the actual content of the update was supposed to be. I have no recollection of this or what it was for whatsoever, so all I know is what I can tell by looking at it.

That said? Golden Oaks Mafia, ride or die!

I’m 12 and what is this?

I was doing some cleaning while sheltering in place and I found some old stuff I’d drawn for the blog that had never seen the light of day. And since I’m not updating right now, but 67 people are still following this blog, who knows, you guys might be interested in seeing pictures for updates that never were. So! Starting with this one, I’m queuing these up to go up one per day for the next few days.

This one in particular was for an update I’d intended to do for a long time (but obviously never finished) where I’d take an ask I’d had sitting around since the blog’s early days asking why Twi didn’t just romance a different tumblrpon Trixie and go around to basically every Trixie blog I’d ever followed -- in an imitation of that Trixie blog’s style -- and have Twi explain why they weren’t an option. I don’t remember what the punchline was, but it was probably something like: “Besides, my Trixie and I have our own thing going,” while pushing Trixie off that damn cliff yet again or “Besides, I’m not one to complain,” while Trixie pushes her off the cliff yet again. Something like that.

This panel was for was Ask Sketchy Trixie, and I suspect Twilight in the corner there was explaining that she’d been ruled out on account of being unambiguously straight? Twi’s expression makes me feel like I had something else in mind for the reason, but Sketchy Trixie was pretty hecking straight.

Twibrary Quest: Solstice

Not gonna keep reblogging it here because I hate doubles on my dash and I imagine other people do, too, but my little thing is continuing over at the Twibrary.

It’s hastily sketched by hand and uploaded via camera phone, so it looks like garbage. And it’s dangerously meta, so depending on your tastes, it might read like garbage. But it’s a thing, and if you want more ATS, that’s where it is right now.

“Other universes?” Twilight murmurs without certainty. Then her eyes suddenly widen. “Wait. You aren’t followers, are you?”

She takes a beat to digest the possibility before responding further, lifting her hat with magic and settling it onto to the light bulb.

“I’m ‘Another’ Twilight Sparkle. Or I was. I guess I might just be ‘Twilight Sparkle’ now. I don’t know where Spike – or anyone – is, and pretty much everything’s gone, notes included, so there aren’t a whole lot to read.”

She shifts her gaze to a post-it note stuck to the interior frame of an open archway leading out to the stairs. “I’ve only found one so far.”

“Who’s there?”

Twilight looks around the room, freshly re-illuminated, but sees nothing but the light bulb she’d just screwed in, the fixture into which it was placed, and the bare interior walls of the highest room in what was once – and could arguably still be considered – the Twibrary.

“Who is that? Are you speaking to me?”

I don’t even do updates or commissions, but I suppose there’s no harm in asking. It wouldn’t be the first time a request hit me sufficiently just right that a picture resulted from it.

I met a friend for dinner when he visited Baltimore for Bronycon 2017 and he had people doing sketches. Consequently, as I was drinking a milkshake, this happened. Today he got me a picture of it, so... hey, actual Twilight content! Who’d have guessed?

See, cause Teej (or Pirate Dash fame) had arranged the tumblrpon dinner, so she had his half-hat. Or “visor,” as he insists on calling it.

Carrot Top is trying to get me to create something – possibly comic-like, she’s suggesting – in a faster, sketchier (and thus less hateful to draw) style.

Not sure how I feel about it.

To those of you who have made the jump, welcome to the same thing you were following before! As a modest way of saying thank you, have some pone sketches I posted to the modblog ages ago. I'll probably delete it again in a few days because it's not actually ATS content, but it's all I have just now. I may work out a better gesture to show how much I appreciate your continued interest even through my disengagement (though options are limited right now without my tablet), especially if I can convince Trixie to fire a final volley with me. But for now... please just know it means a lot to me.
