Tutorial 2D Animated GIF
Today I´m going to make a brief animation tutorial of how i did a GIF of my templar character, hope you find it useful.
In the first place, after selecting the illustration that we want to animate, we draw the parts that are not going to move in a single layer.
Next we draw the parts that are going to be animated in a different layer. In this case, it would be the skirt and the hair.
Before you start animating, add color to the parts that are not going to move, because in future steps, this layer will be duplicated several times and it would be foolish to add colors individually to each one. The result would be something like this:
In the layer where we´re going to animate, the movements are planned, always with little curves and arches that need to move accordingly with the type of action or movement. Here´s a GIF that can help you. This cycle is 9 frames and a speed of 12 frames per second or 0.1 sec in Photoshop.
Once the animation is completed, multiply the layer with no movement, the number of times necessary to equal the total number of frames in the animation layer. In this case we have repeated this layer 9 times. Once this is done, I merged the animation to the layer without movement. It Would be something like this:
Once the animation is assembled, we delete and colour the parts that are missing. The result would look something like this: (it is up to you to add or remove details).
At this point we are finished, but we have also the option of adding details quick and easy in Photoshoot. At the end the GIF would be like this if you add a slight texture and a bit of brightness with very low opacity.
And that would be everything. It´s easier than you think, but yes, is a very, very slow process(at least for me). I hope you liked this brief tutorial, and I hope it helps someone out there ,who visits this humble blog. Greetings and thank you. :D
*sorry for my bad english
