Unfortunatly I am an AJ defender for life so I do think she had her reasons

My two theories being that AJ is either actually that betrayed and never wants to see drift again, or AJ was informed about the bounty on Drifts head and chased her away for her own safety.

Maybe this was also an order given to AJ by the rebels. But what would the rebels have over AJ that could force her to do this?
