chinese dramas that i recommend you watch
les interprètes - 翻译官
there’s basically a cute girl (Qiao Fei) who is basically trying her best to be an interpreter. she’s an intern in a well known organisation and she’s juggling her work, job, life and health to be the best she can be.
love till end of summer
teens that are basically in high school. they are basically juggling their studies, their personal lives, their financial struggles, their dreams with societies expectations. it’s pretty refreshing i gotta say. it allows you to appreciate that maybe, your life is supposed to change and maybe you’re meant to be doing something else. maybe, you need to study abroad. maybe, you need to pursue an art career.
across the ocean to see you
female empowerment galore. female director that goes back into china and its society which is different to london. she learns to love herself and how she can survive in a male dominated society that belittle her.
surgeons (stories behind OR)
doctors working in a hospital in china. it’s a pretty lit drama with aspects that reminds me of grey’s anatomy but i gotta say, it’s different. the females on the show are so into themselves and they know their worth. the character’s conversations are deep and the messages they get across are meaningful.
the first half of my life
a female in her thirties finds herself in a world where she’s lost all sense of security. you watch her character change every episode where she’s trying her best to improve her current life situation. it allows you to realise that you never know your full potential unless you push yourself. it allows you to learn that the only person that you can rely on is yourself. you should love yourself. the messages that the characters portray is meaningful too. seeing females thrive in society, thrive and survive in a world where they’ve got to work 10 times harder than their male counterparts just to be in the same level is evident here. it’s a reality check and it’s refreshing.
