yeah i fully expected this lol, it’s the natural order of things . tumblr makes the thing, twitter takes the thing, twitter gets the credit for the thing. a tale as old as time. i’m not even that miffed tbh, post did what it was supposed to do which was make people aware that oscar piastri has a prehistoric wasp namesake and that mission was accomplished spectacularly
also if anyone from a media outlet or PR team somehow found their way to this blog they would immediately perish on the spot
but genuinely the person who deserves ALL the credit here is Corentin Jouault, the actual paleontologist who found the specimen, did the micro-CT scanning, wrote the taxonomy, and decided that a piece of mclaren orange amber deserved to honor oscar piastri in the permanent scientific record. he’s the one who put Gwesped piastrii into a peer reviewed journal with a doi and everything!! i just read the paper at an ungodly hour and thought “tumblr needs to know about this immediately”

This is a rec list for one of my favorite tropes, the magical pussy. Since the lines between woke up with a pussy and turned into a girl are blurred, this contains both and I didn't try to categorize. All of these fics are incredibly hot and amazing and you should check them out immediately so I didn't repeat myself saying that over and over again and just wrote a little summary for each one. yesss you get it. As an Oscar fan idk why in fic he’s always portrayed as an angel esp compared to lando. Like come on guys, let’s be realistic. in reality him and Lando are different sides of the same DAMN coin. He’s a rich white pro athlete. LETS NOT BE DELUSIONAL 😭let him be evil and slutty and bad and selfish
oscar is kind of the perfect storm for the babyfication of drivers. he perfectly falls into the typical fandom "character" typecasting with his "stark" nerdy contrast to lando's unfiltered edgelord mannerisms even though he can be as dirty-minded and tongue-in-cheek as ln4 is, he just tends to have better restraint 😭
i think a lot of it depends on the attention to detail, i.e. shyboy in the streets, freak in the sheets. oscar doesn't fit the endless party fuckboy archetype like lando does and god knows i hate the whole iceman thing, but i *could* envision a hypothetical where he moves through partners just bc he doesn't get attached to them. would he show himself off with sexual undertones like lando often does? unlikely. could he enjoy receiving attention internally? yeah sure why not. still waters run deep, an onion has many layers, etc etc
i also think a lot of oscar's mannerisms (either from his sisters or his age, hard to say) easily pass as virtue signaling - like woah, he liked a pic of two female athletes getting married! - and infuse him with that early gen z socially conscious flavor, even though his political portrait is vague and his upbringing is White, Straight (on most days), Guy, Super Rich Family, Rich Country. i knew all of that and i still wrote him as a trans guy so like lol lmao
anyways. i think we could all benefit from fiddling with the tropes and subverting them instead of hard-leaning into overused fandom fodder. oscar is a self-described boring guy but let that not stop us from psychoanalyzing him for kudos and giggles
the thing about oscar is…….. i think he gets the charles blorbo treatment a little too much in rpf and we all should be making him a little more of an evil fuckboy

Oscar hadn’t realized he was falling asleep until he startled awake. He was on the wrong side of the plane. He looked down and that was wrong too. Not the outfit he’d been wearing, not… not his hands, rubbing over the pinstripe trousers covering his thighs. Not his hands at all, although he was able to move them. It was almost like being in a VR headset. He touched his face and felt only skin. So it wasn’t actually a headset. He looked across the aisle, the wrong way — this wasn’t the side of the plane he’d sat down on — and saw himself looking back. Body swap.

I want to be… Oscar thinks. I want to be something. With you. He doesn't say it. His throat feels tight, he can't get words out. Emotions are too thick, too overwhelming. He feels tears prickling in the corner of his eyes, but blinks them away. His mind can only come up with one thing.
Oscar needs Lando, needs him close, needs him to stay, to be more, even as his words fail him. Oscar leans forward, still so close. He feels like he is shrinking in on himself, head hanging low in between his shoulders. Then, his forehead touches something solid and soft at the same time. Skin underneath fabric. Oscar's head rests on Lando's shoulder, exhausted and done, with a carousel of emotions in his head, centered on the ever-repeating cry of touch me, touch me, touch me.
I couldn't let my babies stay sad. I needed to to something. a 4.3k something in the end.
