“Host assures Anti it’s okay. He’s sorry for his reaction.”, Host said softly. He did manage a tiny smile at the sort-of praise for him, feeling good he was praised for having eaten.
He listened quietly to Anti, facing his lap as the alpha talked. He wasn’t sure if he could handle Anti being here as well as a doctor. “Host is alright to see the doctor now, but he’s… he’s not sure about.. about Anti’s scent. Host’s really really sorry.”, he didn’t want Anti to get mad at him again, he was honestly scared of it. He just hoped for the best.
“Oh, ummm…Okay, I’ll go call him in now then. You don’t have to apologize, I understand. Like I said, whatever would make you more comfortable,” Anti was a bit disappointed Host didn’t want him to stay but he understood his reasoning and wasn’t going to argue or try to make him change his mind. The doctor could just update him after the appointment. It wasn’t a big deal.
He leaves the room then to grab the doctor, who knocks on the door quietly before entering. “Host? Hi, I’m doctor Gibson. How are you doing?” The doctor asks as he enters the room, setting his briefcase down on the edge of Host’s bed. “We’re gonna figure out what’s wrong together, okay? Don’t you worry,” he says kindly, smiling at the other.
Host still obviously felt more than terrible, and he would’ve let Anti stay, if it weren’t for Host’s nausea. So he just listened to him leave, fiddling with his fingers, fidgeting.
“Hello.”, Host replied quietly, nodding lightly. So far the doctor sounded nice, so he hoped he’d be okay. He was… almost certain he could get help if he needed it and get the doctor to leave him if he needed him to.
“Now I’m gonna start by taking your vitals and doing a general checkup, okay? I’ll take your blood pressure, check your heart, take your pulse, all that fun stuff before we get into what’s been bothering you. Does that sound okay?” The doctor asks as he opens his briefcase and removes a stethoscope.
“I’m gonna touch you now, I’m sorry my hands are just a little bit cold,” The man says as he presses the end of the stethoscope to Host’s chest to listen to his heart and breathing, wanting to check everything and be very thorough since his previous owners had very obviouslt neglected him.
Host nodded quietly along, listening to the doctor. He decided he could trust him, if only because he clung to that bit of kindness he was shown already. And trusting betas and omegas was much easier than trusting alphas.
“Host may have a low blood pressure.”, He said softly. “It was normal in his family.”. He did remember that, and he remembered his one allergy, and some stuff here and there his brain had decided was important enough to remember.
He breathed deeply as the cold stethoscope touched his skin, unbothered having it and a hand beneath his shirt. He should probably get changed into proper clothes, maybe ask if he should shower. He had before being brought here, thankfully, but still. He wondered if he could ask for a haircut. He didn’t like how his curls hung in his face.
“That’s good to know, thank you for that,” the doctor says, nodding as he checks Host’s vitals. His blood pressure was indeed on the low side. “Is there anything else you’d like to tell me about your medical history?” he asks as he checks Host’s heart and lungs.
“Your lungs and heart sound healthy, which is good. Your blood pressure is a bit low, but with your medical history and you being underweight I’m not too surprised,” he says. “I definitely think some vitamins would be a good idea,” he nods, writing a few notes here and there as he goes along.
“I know Anti told me your hormones have been bothering you a lot, especially scents in particular? Would you mind telling me a bit more about that?” the doctor asks, having seen a few similar cases before so he had an idea of what to prescribe.
“I... I probably should have told you this when I... came back..” Oliver shifted tugging at the end of the white gloves he had been wearing almost since he had returned. “Well... I couldn’t find you and I ran into this guy... Damien? He said he knew you... and that you were... dead... so I uh made a deal... he said he’d collect his end but didn’t say when...” he pulled a small bouquet of dead flowers, removed the gloves and they immediately blossomed, a soft golden glow encasing them. “Tadaa...”
