Fanart for a Severitus fanfiction Alleviate by crimes_all_the_times, chapter 3. It's really quite a genious fic - certainly a crown jewel among Severitus fan works if you ask me. If you're looking for some good hearty angst, thoughtfully and skillfully written, with amazingly sharp wit on the side, I recommend you check Alleviate out.

Under the cut alternative versions of the sketch as well as my thoughts about the process

Couldn't decide which was the best one, since the one with Snape's silhouette is narratively most clear, and rich perhaps, but I'm unsure how balanced it looks. If you have an opinion on this I'd love to hear it.

(The one on the left is just a dark blob of miasma because I reckoned the Snape one didn't look far from that anyways)

Honestly there are even more versions, because I tried to color it, but I'll leave them to my vault for now. Color would have been great in bringing out the very specific atmosphere this scene had (specifically the scorching sun that was cooking Harry's brain) but I was losing my marbles with it.

Nevertheless, I had fun with this and I'm planning to properly draw Snape from this fic too, when I can choose a scene that combines recodnizability with my skill level (backrounds are hard...)
