OKENITE
Colour: white to slightly yellow, also in blue.
Found in: worldwide, but many of the reserves are generally found in Antarctica.
Named after the German naturalist Lorenz Ocken (1779-1851), this mineral resembles a “fluffy cotton ball”.
This stone brings feelings of comfort and belonging. Emotionally okenite encourages forgiveness of self and others, and lessening of denial. It can bring truth with self and others and ease the harshness of that truth. It also helps break bad habits of all kinds. A stone for self-forgiveness and an ability not to fall back into damaging patterns of thought or action.
Health: As an elixir, it is said to be good for skin problems, particularly spots, warts, absesses and boils. Calms diarrhoea Hold or place beside the bed when suffering from a fever as this stone is said to bring the temperature down to a normal level. Physically okenite is helpful for blood diseases and problems, lowering fever, stomach problems, and slowing aging. To improve the circulation of blood around the body, wear or carry this stone every day. Good for hormone-related breast pain, general benign and non-cancerous lumps of the breast – must be held on the afflicated area.
Warning: keep this stone under glass or protected from the elements, inside and out, when not in use. Okenite is very soft and tends to absorb odors and airborne particles such as smoke, grease, incense, etc.
Chakra: Okenite is associated primarily with the crown chakra but can align and purify the energy of all chakras
Starsign: Virgo, Sagittarius.
