In our fifth outing with Saas Bahu & Betiyan on AAJ Tak along with celebrity make-up artist Neha Adhvik Mahajan we got to shoot Television actor Tanya Sharma popular for her many roles on TV for eg. Udaan, Laal Ishq, Saath Nibhana Sathiya, Woh Apna Sa, etc. on Television. Tanya was dolled up in two contemporary looks for brides – one in a pastel pink summer look and another in a chic blue Lehanga for pre-wedding functions like Sangeet. She even sported Sneakers with her ensemble. Her ensemble and jewelry were carefully put together from different parts of India by Neha.

We were really excited to shoot with Tanya who effused a lot of energy and clearly a spontaneous and effortless dancer. She is super fun and anyone is bound to have a great time with her around. Honestly, shooting actors is way easier than shooting real brides. Their years of experience to pose makes it a cake-walk, and Tanya was no different. We feel humbled to be able to work with such kindred souls.

In our fourth outing with Saas Bahu & Betiyan on AAJ Tak along with celebrity make-up artist Neha Adhvik Mahajan we got to shoot Bollywood actor Madhurima Tuli popular for her many roles on TV and Big Screen for eg. Chandrakanta on Television and as the lead in Baby opposite Akshay Kumar. Madhurima was dolled up in two contemporary looks for brides – one in more traditional Red Lehanga and another in a chic green Lehanga for a more summer bride destination wedding look. Her ensemble and jewelry was carefully put together from different parts of India by Neha.

We were really excited to shoot with Madhurima and I particularly have been admirer since her Airtel advertisement. She was very easy to work with and we had a great time taking her pictures. Honestly, shooting actors is way easier than shooting real brides. Their years of experience to pose makes it a cake-walk, and Madhurima particularly is great fun to work with and we feel humbled to work with such a great set of people.

February started with a bang with one of the most fun-filled weddings of the season so far. Love was in the air as Monisha Rao – a cabin crew at Etihad Airlines fell in love with a Varun Shetty from Fly Dubai over drinks. The two decided to get married and got in touch with us to document their special day – KnotsbyAMP style. We, as wedding photographers, always look forward to white weddings for their no nonsense, merry and jovial vibes – Monisha & Varun’s wedding was not an exception. After two gruesome months of back-to-back shoots, hectic schedules with little to no sleep, this wedding – with more than its fair share of dance, drama, music, games.. and some more dance – was just what the doctor prescribed.

Monisha & Varun celebrated their nuptials at The St. Blaise Church, Amboli followed by a night of ‘Drinks, Dinner and Dance’ at The Peninsula Grand Hotel. Before their wedding ceremony, Monisha and Varun got ready at their respective residences in Andheri. Monisha’s quaint little house served as the perfect backdrop for the honest and quirky storytelling pictures that followed. Her house was a hub of activities as the bridal entourage helped each other with their wedding attire. The buzz and chaos is palpable from the pictures and so is the excitement as the bridesmaids help the bride with her final look. The highlight being the cute little messages the two had written to one another on the sole of their shoes – Solemates indeed!! Varun got ready with the help of his groomsmen and boy did he look dapper in his white tuxedo, complete with his uber cool wayfarers and those superman cufflinks. This was followed by a short blessing ceremony before the bride and groom’s entourage left for the church.

Monisha was escorted down the aisle by her parents as everyone in attendance including Varun looked at her in awe. Soon after there was a short mass and the ring exchange ceremony thereafter. Churches present a unique challenge for us as photographers in the form of restricted movement during the mass. It was important that we placed ourselves such that we wouldn’t have to move much and set our lights in such a way that it didn’t restrict anyone’s view. Our tele lenses came in handy here. We decided to get hold of the couple and their close family members soon after the nuptials for a family photograph. Couple portraits and the photos of the bride and groom entourage followed thereafter. The sheer number of pictures we have of the couple kissing each other is testament to their chemistry.

“Alcohol – Because no great story started with someone eating a salad” – This is what we first read as soon as we entered the reception venue at The Peninsula Grand and we got a rough idea of what was in store for us. The venue had a central dance floor surrounded by a banquet style seating for the guests. The bride and groom danced their way into the venue to the tune of their favourite song . They were showered with confetti as they danced around the dance floor for a bit before settling down for the cake cutting ceremony. The champagne was popped, the best man and the maid of honor raised a toast to the bride and the groom respectively. The father/daughter dance and the first dance followed thereafter and the two were seen exchanging glances and making faces to each other throughout. This was followed by some fun games before everyone dispersed for dinner and drinks. Meanwhile, the couple decided to meet and greet their guests and we snuck in some couple portraits soon after. After everything was done and dusted, it was time to unwind as the close family and guests gathered for an after party in the banquet hall. The party continued till late in the night and we stuck around clicking pictures until everyone decided to call it a day.

This is how the wedding was planned and executed the MONIRUN-way.

A two states wedding in 2018 that gave us all the feels, that has to be Nomchin & Udbhav’s Wedding in Alwar. This was our second outing with Nomchin & Udbhav (the first was at their engagement)

Nomchin & Udbhav, both Bitsians, based in USA, planned their wedding at Alwar Bagh in Alwar, which happens to be Nomchin’s hometown. Nomchin is a Punjabi and Udbhav is a South Indian. And the couple opted for a south indian wedding and a north indian reception. And this is how it looked like with all the colourful vibes and happiness and smiles. One striking part about the wedding was that all the festivities majorly happened in the open, making way for some stunning photographs. Now let us take you through Nomchin & Udbhav’s wedding story!

Today is the last day of 2018. It has been a special, mad and crazy year. Also, leading to a very crazy wedding season. It was one of our agendas to blog one special wedding of this wedding season, before the year ends. And so here it is – Rajat & Sonal’s Royal Two States Wedding at Delhi.

Delhi weddings are unique, and have their own flavour. We have realised this at all the times we have covered weddings in Delhi (Previous Delhi Weddings – Sidhant – Barkha, Ishita – Snehasish). Its also because of how the celebrations turn out to be “larger than life” & “whole roller coaster” of emotions, vibes, decor, food, clothes and so much more. And Rajat & Sonal’s wedding was no different. Rajat got in touch with us sometime in September 2018. He got to know about us through his common friends, and mentioned in the first conversation itself how he loved our work. Then, next what happened was a meeting over coffee with Sonal in Mumbai, and we were onboard.

Rajat & Sonal, have been together since a decade. And November 2018 was the time for this malyali–punjabi couple to culminate their decade long love story to their forever story. It amazes us all the time that how relationships like this stands the test of time, only to churn into a new beginning in the form of marital bliss, and how we are entrusted with the job of capturing the memories that would last more than a lifetime. Co-incidentally, these folks got married at the same time as Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone!

The festivities started with Sonal’s mehendi. Dressed in yellow- green attire with a yellow backdrop in the backyard of Sonal’s house, this was a simple yet such a thoughtful setting for the mehendi. Morever, it was November, so the Delhi wintry weather did a lot of wonders. And the result are the photos with happy vibes and vibrant colours. Next was the engagement, where interesting stories from Rajat & Sonal’s dating times were shared by the bride’s sister followed by dance and ring exchange. The couple portrait session happened too, and we are so incredibly glad about how the couple took out a good deal time for them. The day of the wedding started with bride’s haldi, chooda & kalire ceremony at her house. It was so much fun to watch the bride, shaking her chooda and kalire on the heads of all the unmarried friends present. The room was filled with all giggles, as the parts of kalire fell on the friend’s heads.

And then came the time, which everyone waited for so long. The wedding venue Airforce Auditorium Lawn was lit and decorated to its best. Sonal’s family welcomed Rajat with all smiles. And the stunning bride Sonal made an entry making all the heads turn. The entry surely would remain as one of our best captured bridal entries till date. We all got goosebumps as the Jai-maal happened in the lit fountain structure created in front of the mandap. The happiness on their faces that day, and the way they looked at each other was just priceless. And with them surrounding and sharing that happiness were their parents, siblings and friends. And thats how forever happened for Mr & Mrs Menon.Thank you Rajat & Sonal for choosing us and getting us on-board to document your special day, and all the warmth showered by both the families.
