every year I post this meme and every year people get more mad at me than they did the previous year

And every summer I get reminded that we have only a single choice if we want to survive

On this year's July 4th, on the 250th Anniversary of the declaration of independence, the Non-fascist group "Patriot Front" marched through Washington DC.

This should not be a surprise. It seems self-evident that the fascists would do something such an anniversary. Not expecting this is as foolish as not expecting feminist demonstrations on March 8th, workers' demonstrations on May Day, or Pride festivals in June.

And yet, they were able to march without interference. Without counterprotest. Without obstruction.

Now, I know the United States have their own Anti-Fascist movement. There are even so-called socialists and communists there.

Then how come they did nothing?

Did they not know there was going to be a fascist march? In that case, they would be greater fools than imagined.

Did they have better things to do? In that case, what? What could have been better than the media attention that, for once, the Patriot Front were met by an organised block of Anti-Fascists?

I believe this to be a testament to the workers' movement in the United States. It proves their utter unpreparedness.

On the same day, tens of thousands of anti-fascists in Germany blocked the city of Erfurt. Granted, their goal was not reached - but the entire nation watched it. The entire nation of Germany could once more see German police punching a way for Nazis.

Think of what would be the reaction if American communists did the same. Think of what the reaction would be if Patriot Front had been met by a well-organized block of Communists. Or even just a handful of Anti-Fascists with a banner.

Think of what would happen when the American people saw - clear as day - American cops punching the way clear for a Nazi march.

And then, tell me again: Why was there no counter protest?

Fascist attacks in Germany are mounting!

It seems that German fascism is growing again. This past weekend, on the night to the 21st of June, a 23 year old anti-fascist was stabbed in the city of Göttingen, presumably by one (or several) local Neo-Nazis. He was brought to a hospital, but his life remains endangered as far as I am aware.

Now, this is no isolated event; fascist attacks on leftists, queer people and immigrants are mounting.

In march, a comrade from the 'Internationale Jugend' in Berlin was attacked with a machete; only a month later, another comrade, this time from the 'Rotes Erfurt' was attacked with brass knuckles in a targeted attack by Nazis.

But the fascists don't just increase their presence with direct attacks against leftists! They are also increasingly agitating against queer people. Last year was a record high in fascist attacks against Pride Events, and there were over two thousand registered queerphobic crimes comitted. The true number is probably even higher.

But their attacks have not stopped this year either. The fascists are trying to make us scared!

The attack in Göttingen stands before the context of the pride march there as well. The same Neo-Nazi who committed the crime supposedly also sprayed far right slogans and painted over a rainbow flag; and the same day as the attack happened, a man had to be removed from the pride event after threatening a stall operator.

Yet the German state only watches.

The attacker of this attempted murder was released the same day. The police claim he acted in self-defense - even though they found a knife on him.

And instead of taking action against growing tides of fascism, the liberal parties use the same racist narratives as the fascists. They ban the display of rainbow flags over parliament. They expand state supervision by cooperation with Palantir and the likes. And they create a legal basis for the erection of concentration camps under the cover of "return hubs".

It is not surprising that these decisions are answered with joy in the far right.

Ultimately, it becomes ever more obvious that this state and the fascists aren't enemies. It can be best seen when the police beat the way clear for fascist parties, when it lets go of fascist murderers, while illegally extraditing anti-fascists such as Maja T.

Now, this is no coincidence. The bourgeois state and fascism serve the same master: The capitalist class.

Therefor, there can only be one answer to this rise in fascist violence, and to the course of the German state:

We must carry on in defiance of all their repression! We must fight for socialism!

Only our solidarity will break fascism and this state!

Cuba has folded under the USA's imperialist pressure. That much is clear.

Now, there are those who claim this to be in line with socialism. They say it was a decision from "realism".

That begs the question: Is it "realism" to allow foreign capital? Is it "realism" to abolish a planned economy? Is it "realism" to give up on all aspirations of socialism?

I say: No. It is clear opportunism. The implication that it is "realism" means that socialist construction is impossible. And maybe, for the island nation of Cuba, that is true. But even then, this cannot be seen as a defense of Cuba's "socialist" mode of production, but only as its abandonment.

The Cuban ruling class has decided to keep its independence, and that is in itself a good thing. However: There is no socialist Cuba. Those denying this fact must be considered revisionists.

Liberals aren't anti-fascist. Demanding the state which constantly defends nazis to be used against them isn't anti-fascist, it's stupid. The bourgeois state is our enemy in this struggle, the police would always rather beat up protesters than arrest nazis. Yhe strengthening of state repression can never be our goal, for it will always be used against us later on.

As Esther Bejarano said:

"Those who fight nazis cannot rely on this state"
