We have gathered every issue of Anything That Moves as PDFs and are working on transcribing them into plain text for accessibility and easy spreading and quoting! Check out our carrd here for links to all the files.

Hi. I regret to say that for the time being I lack the free time and mental health sufficient to continue working on this project. Apologies for the disappointing announcement. If this changes I will say so. Thank you for the support thus far.

Text transcription for issue #2 is now up on our Carrd!
A very kind individual mailed me physical copies of five other ATM issues and threw in a BABN issue as well. Some of the mags also had a few trinkets in them :)

The transcription of issue #1 is officially up on our Carrd!
Kravitz emerges from his cave to provide updates:
After being locked out of the archive email for roughly a billion years (due to its original creator having deleted their means of contact), I got help regaining access. So sorry to everyone who only got crickets after emailing us, we weren’t ignoring you! I will carve out the time to go through everything.
Transcription for Issue #1 is currently underway. Better late than never. For now I will just be typing the text precisely how it was typed in the magazine, down to the typos.
Regarding #2: I know many people have reached out about helping with this process! At this exact moment I lack the mental bandwidth to personally delegate this task, but after I finish No. 1 & get to reviewing the old emails I will reassess, since I’m certainly doing this in the least optimized way possible lol. I’m also finding image descriptions are not my strong suit, and will likely appreciate eventual assistance with those and other accessibility improvements.
Bear with me with other timelines and future organizing—due to the busyness or drop-outs of other previously more-involved members, I am effectively running this by myself right now. You are always free to submit your own transcriptions if you have completed any independently; you don’t need our permission!
(And yes, I definitely plan to use a better sharing format than Google Docs once the transcriptions are actually done. Our Carrd now includes the scanned issues uploaded to Internet Archive)
More to come.

along with transcript submissions, would you accept translation submissions? i'm currently translating the first issue into spanish, so i was wondering if i could submit this and other translated issues.
Translations are welcome!
I also apologize to those still following this blog attentively for updates—the majority of the team is extensively occupied with personal life affairs & subsequently (at least for me) difficult to get in contact with, so not much new has been happening our end.
I hopefully will be able to pick up the reins a bit in terms of transcription in the not too far future (I am still homeless trying to find housing, so bear with me here).

I've been adding the entries of Anything That Moves to The Storygraph (a book logging website (similar to goodreads) created by a Black woman) and if anyone wants to help, that'd be much appreciated!

"Finding 'Anything That Moves' was a shock to my system."
We’ve been interviewed by Mashable magazine!
genuinely amazing work, both as a way to preserve our history + educate ourselves. are you (collective) still open to new volunteers or donations ?
Hi! As far as volunteering, anyone is welcome to submit transcriptions of any of the issues and we will review it and credit you for transcribing! You can see what we've already got/what's in progress on this page.
As for donations, we don’t have any collective fund for the archive, so below I have listed a few tumblr friends in need and a few organizations local to some members that are always in need of donations!

Are you accepting submissions of transcripts?
Anybody is welcome to transcribe issues on their own time and submit them to the blog if they wish. Issues that are already transcribed or are in the process of completion are listed in our carrd.

Apparently our carrd made it to the Wikipedia page for the ATM magazine... pretty dope!

For those who have sent us asks/emails in the past few months: We are working on answering y’all soon. Aside from busyness in our personal lives we’ve also been having significant issues with member access to the blog and its associated email. Also, happy pride!

Hey there! I’m looking for resources on gender and bisexuality. I understand my gender as being bisexual (~genderfluidity) but I’d like to know of other people’s experiences to help me figure stuff out
Hey anon! I think the magazine might be a good place to start, just click the link in our pinned post, there are a lot of articles on bisexuality and gender in there. If you're looking for more recent resources, I can find some for you too.
a YouTube channel I recommend is verilybitchie
also not to recommend one of our own mods but Kravitz writes articles on bisexuality that might be useful to you. He's Kravitz M. on medium and I recommend this article as a good start bc it's one of my favourites
- Brodie
Bisexual Politics: Theories, Queries and Visions, 1995, is also a good read in general. Here's a download link.

Hi! What do you think about the things that appeared on the ATM, like “byke”?
Hi anon! I don’t think my personal opinion matters that much when it comes to archiving ATM. I’m here to preserve a vibrant piece of bisexual history—not to broadcast my opinions on slur reclamation and slang. If “byke” is a part of bi history, then I’m all for it!
-Tony
byke was a pretty common term and ive come across it in other bi books etc, so it wasnt a word coined by atm i dont think. honestly i think the word byke is totally fine and i defend its usage
- Brodie
I feel like you can make many cheesy bisexual jokes with it. I lack further opinion.
- Kravitz
hi hi thank you so much for compiling these resources!! i was just wondering if by any chance you have the 1990 issue?? the one that originally includes the "bisexual manifesto"?
The first issue (dubbed the “premier issue” on the cover) was actually published in 1991. I assume the original ATM manifesto, prior to magazine publication, was written in 1990 (the short version most people are familiar with is on the ATM website), but every single issue of the mag has a longer version of that manifesto on the inside cover (with a slight edit from 1993 onward).
We assume the 1990 date refers to the year the publication was founded rather than the year the first issue was released.
