sometimes i really love my fics. i wrote that because i wanted to read it. i love it. nobody visits my fics more than me. they remind me that i’m a hard worker, that i created something. it’s mine and i cherish it and love it because it’s exactly what i wanted so i made it.
and other days i’m crippled by self criticism and hate everything and can’t bear to look at my own work because i know it’ll never compare to the greats
but i live for the days i love my work. because it’s mine, and i made it. i didn’t wait for somebody else to make what i dream about. i went and did it myself.
so don’t feel like your work is awful
it’s the stuff you dreamed about. it’s the stuff you decided to make a reality. it’s not about quality, or poetry, or how perfectly your sculpt your words or keep it so deeply in character; because it’s what you dreamed and it’s what you wanted to see, so you made it.
keep writing; it’s yours, and you made it. and if you want to continue to sharpen and improve yourself? then do it. it’s all yours and you can make it whatever you want.

imagine zarry going to comic con together and while zayn is too busy ooh and ahh over all the glorious superhero memorabilia, harry just cant stop looking at zayn’s enthusiastic face, filled with joy and awe. so he couldn’t help but take a sneaky candids of zayn but his boyfriend is too busy to notice him anyway, he cant stop looking at the star wars costumes!
Zarry Fic Rec: Fic Exchange Edition
Two fic exchanges have passed and it’s high time someone does this. All opinions are my own. If you want to talk about these fics or about anything, message me and we’ll have a grand time.
Most of these fics made me feel that feeling. You know, that visceral feeling you get while reading a really good fic- like you feel this strange and pleasant current going through you, as if the writer is legit in your body cavity and is holding your heart in their hands and doing whatever they damn please with it.
Honestly, PRAISES to the person who is running the fic exchange because not only are they the best and most patient person in the world who deserves a lot of thanks and love and cupcakes but they have also paved the way for a huge influx of Zarry fic (which is ALWAYS a good thing, lbr). The fic exchange has revealed new Zarry fic writers (*repeatedly turns light switch on & off* WELCOME TO HELL!) who are all great and wonderful (just like the writers who have been here since day one) and the fics in the exchange have ruined my life so you know what? Let’s begin.

soo i have this headcanon where, as much as i think zarry would be super playful (more so than some fans give them credit for) being the ridiculous weirdos they are. if they were together together- light, flirty moments could turn heavy and serious at the drop of a hat. harry was always fully aware of zayn’s need to retreat. that he could be wilding one second, quietly somber the next. harry could be the same in all honesty, even if it was less obvious. but when you’re with him, with him that means something else.
like harry will cheekily try to irritate him for attention, a brief kiss. nose along his neck, his jawline. and most of the time zayn would chuckle back, ruffle his hair. lick his lips tauntingly slow just to annoy harry, kiss the side of harry’s lips, laugh at his forming pout, before kissing it away.
sometimes though, when it seems like his head is somewhere else entirely, he’ll take harry’s jaw in his hands, his eyes far away and honed in on harry all at once (and harry’s never known what to do when zayn’s focus encompasses him like this, never has) takes his fingers and scratches them softly through harry’s hair. before tracing them along the lines of his face. the plush of his lips. as if doing so, will tether him to the earth a bit more, to this moment (they’ve always done that for each other. kept each other from floating away entirely. kept each other solid.) closing his eyes and resting his forehead on harry’s. harry’s hands finding the back of his neck, holding on. harry can feel the flutter of zayns eyelashes on his skin. and just as he’s about to open his eyes, because zayn’s here, and he’s sO close. and harry nearly always wants to be looking at zayn really. zayn kisses atop his nose. softly. lets out a calming hum after he does so. harry can feel zayn’s breath between them, or maybe it’s his. and it’s the most intimate thing he’s ever experience he thinks. his heart hammering with it. being allowed into zayn’s quiet moment. zayn’s gentle hands guiding him through…
idk i just feel like from what we know of them, zarry would be this perfect mix of silliness and sweetness and intensity, just SO intense with want, not handling all they feel (you can imagine harry getting lost in zayn sometimes. just wanting to look and touch and have zayn. right that second. almost petulant with it. zayn going from amused to fully aboard fairly quickly) i seriously don’t know how more ppl don’t write about them tbh. there's so much there!
