rainy nights in cheltenham (or, i miss you mum)

a sense of familiarity in the rain

on our windscreen

our umbrellas

paladins from the wet

heels and canvas upon regency stone

the night is quiet as we walk together

for air and conversation

how i now wish hindsight

had blessed me

to insight me

with the view of devastation

knowing after your death

my feet could not collide with them

as if kept apart by lightning and magicks

as the light in my world

went out

that the rain falls upside down
