I also want to let u guys know that there are a LOT of tags. Like I made this SO hard for myself to keep track of. Please know I try to hit every relevant tag from the list below, but I will 1000% miss a few or more of the relevant tags. The most consistent tags are going to be characters, ships, feels (angies, happies, or sillies), and media tags. Because I remember that all those exists.

Lastly, this is marked as draft because it is missing hyperlinks! I don't feel like grabbing those all rn, but want to post this (finally) so people know what tags mean.

#recently discovered there's a new one and since I'm not particularly interested in continuing this blog I wanted y'all to know

Honestly. Might need another mod lol. None of my fandom friends are in the aphmau sphere so uh, if anyone is interested let me know.

MID is severely overhyped.

like i can't name one memorable thing that happened in the entire series...

i know ava has two dads... and a luxury apartment... and a best friend called mac... and a human neighbor who has an unrequited crush on her... i know there are 5 demon boys who flirt... i know there's a sassy old demon lady and a younger demon woman who's supposed to be the main villain... and that ava dies at the end lol...

and that's it. that's all i remember about that roleplay. it's just such a nothingburger.

i get it, demon boys are hot (not leif and asch though, they're incredibly insufferable and annoying. a huge part of why i struggled to get through it when i first watched it) and i can understand simping over them, but is that really enough to sustain such overblown attention towards the entire roleplay?

the MID glazing is crazy. i do not understand the hype. at all.

MID is kinda mid.

Maybe people need to stop complaining there’s a lot of gay ships in a series which only has one female character in its main cast.

Or just stop complaining there are gay ships. At all.

You don’t have to read about them. Or acknowledge them. Or anything.

You can go ‘I wish there were more posts about [ship] or [headcanon]’ or whatever. But saying the worst thing about mid, a series with an almost entirely single-sex main cast, is that people go ‘haha gay’ about the almost entirely single-sex main cast?

Get a grip. Reach out into the air, and grab onto one for me. Even for a second.

Or at least age above 12 before you start posting on tumblr. Because this is such a non-issue it’s astounding.

The worst part of this fandom is probably the fandom entitlement and harassment of the creators, not that someone said that Asch and Leif get freaky maybe

also the fact that he was talking in discord, as a grown man, with a bunch of minors is kinda weird. yes, it was the official aphmau community discord. but if you wanted to answer questions, you could've done a q&a on twitter or even just a panel. idgaf it's weird.

every few months i forget that gene and dante are even supposed to be siblings in mystreet because their dynamic is sooo poorly fleshed out...

and when i realize that they *are* are in fact siblings because my memory tells me so, it's always such a shock for some reason.

I first started watching aphmau in 2019 right when aphmau was slowly becoming cocomau, I enjoyed those videos and I still do but some of the videos can be uuh pretty awkward... my younger self knew what mcd, mystreet, pdh was but never bothered to watch bc it was too long. Now I just watched it and my perspective on aphmau and the rest have changed and I kinda get why aphmau changed, but her old videos were so cool especially the fanfic reading ones(I very much enjoyed these)

Honestly MCD season 3 needed more drama. By that I mean Shad taking over Scales Wind or Phoenix drop. Gene was literally in Phoenix Drop but left. Like why you had Irene’s/Aphmau’s home base, do something with it!!!!!!!

i don't think most newer fans realize just how HUGE aphmau was between 2016 and 2019.

you couldn't join any game on roblox without people bringing up "aphmau" in the chat, the amount of mmd videos that were made was gargantuan... but it wasn't just huge online.

i live in a very small country with a very small population (under 3 million) where only a very small percentage of the population can speak and understand english, even among younger generations.

so you can imagine my shock when — on one random day in 8th grade while walking through the school hallways to get to my gym class — i saw a girl wearing an AARON LYCAN HOODIE walk by.

and ngl i almost passed out when i saw that. because it was such a surreal, almost out-of-body experience.

back then i would spend pretty much all my free time being involved in the aphmau fandom on various platforms. my real-life situation wasn't exactly happy then, so aphmau would be my sweet escape and my coping mechanism.

but aphmau life and real life had always been completely separate from one another, never crossing paths at all.

until that 8th grade day...

my digital world and my real world had collided and my head was spinning.

it was like a scene from coraline.

i was too stunned to speak so i never tried to talk to my fellow aphmau fan, and i never saw that random girl after that. it's like she vanished.

but it just really goes to show how aphmau was EVERYWHERE. even in my random country nobody has ever heard of.

Ppl love to talk about "we need more rarepairs" and "we need more crack ships" but then when someone writes rarepairs and crack ships they get no notes. No kudos. No comments. Nothing.

(Tbh writers who don't just do a rewrite are very underappreciated in this fandom in general)

i think a lot of mystreet fans forget or just dont know that laurance's voice actor and jess had a huge falling out at some point early on which is why he barely shows up in the series unlike mcd. he Couldve been great but that would require yanking a new voice actor into a now controversial role, ergo replacing whatever had been put into him by that VA

i think theres a new one now, but back then it was a fresh wound to the fandom that knew about it, it wouldve been too big of a change.
