“A rather….s…strange girl. I deduce that…if sh…she were to h-have it her way, s-she’d let me p…pull all the teeth out of…out of her mouth. For th…that sak-k-ke, I hope she…she never has to c-c-come into my office…”

He’d more than likely enjoy that. He didn’t want that.

“Ah-You really think so? Thank you.”

 It wasn’t often someone complimented her irataka nenju, rare in fact. Understandable seeing as most weren’t too found of seeing animal bones or teeth out in plain sight. “A gift from my Master, I am an itako you see. We often use these during our rituals when channelling spirits and the deceased-Prayer beads if you will, some also contain animal skulls and other beads.” She hesitated for a moment before taking it off so that the other could take a closer look. The direction of her hands were off, both flat so that the necklace would rest upon them clearer to see.

She gave a short bow of the head, a warm smile upon her face. “My name is Yamamoto by the way, Reina Yamamoto.”

📋 - “That’s....f..fascinating..” He stopped his hovering hand from touching the necklace, not wanting to take advantage of the stranger’s blindness to touch her things without her direct permission. 

“I h...hadn’t heard of s-such a thing...” His head tilted in curiosity, trying to see if there were any noticable tool marks on the beautiful pieces of jewlery. If it wouldn’t scare his patients, he’d certainly wear something like it...but he was certain a necklace made of teeth wouldn’t inspire confidence. He was letting himself get distracted,however.

“Suzuk-k-ki...” - He winced as his stutter caught on his family name - hopefully the stranger would understand - “Elijah. It’s a...it’s a pleasure...do you m-mind if I ask you a few more qu-questions?”

((Me, whispering quietly: Elijah teaches Reina facts about bones from a bone obsessed person’s dentist perspective and Reina teaches him facts about bones from an itako perspective / Relating to occult stuff ect. They get old looks to those who overhear their conversations but they don’t care because one: They found someone who potentially understands them and won’t judge them for being ‘strange.’ Two: Reina can’t see their judgemental looks so they are ineffective. Reina’s ease with talking about bones ect probably help Elijah with own feelings about it?? I dunno XD

There was that choppy way of speaking again, but once more Kiibo decided not to call it into question. There were far more important things to think about, such as the way this guy was continuing to stare intently at his teeth. He continued to grin toothily, but part of him did continue to wonder why he was so curious regarding his teeth in particular…

“Ah, I see! A dentist would be particularly curious about teeth in general, so it must have been quite a surprise to take note of my teeth,” Kiibo replied, finally understanding. He couldn’t help but nod rather happily at the prospect of answering more questions. Finally, someone curious about him enough to want to know more about him! This day was getting better and better! “Of course! Feel free to ask any question that may still be on your mind.”

📋 - “Y...yes. It is r-remarkable.” He couldn’t have imagined such technology could exist until now - what a curious world they lived in for this to be possible! For a moment, he began to wonder if the robot would have skeletal like structure similar to a human’s, only for the thought to wander away from him easily. A question to ask at some point, certainly, but thankfully nothing like the occasional desire he held to examine the bones of a living being. How fortunate.

“Before I...before I proceed, I’d like to intro-introduce myself.” He commented, holding back his fascinations for the manners he should never allow himself to forget.

“I am Suzuk-k-ki Elijah.” he informed him, giving a wince at the familiar frustration of not being able to pronounce his own name correctly. “And yo....you would be?”

{ Elijah is such an awkward and cautious guy that sometimes I forget part of the canonical lore I gave him is that he’s preformed wisdom tooth operations on patients completely unsupervised just because he felt the ‘overwhelming urge’ to.

He’s trying very hard to be a good person but lord does that boy need help }

Fun fact: Elijah doesn’t tend to use honorifics

You’ll hear him use the -san one from time to time when he’s trying to be particularly polite or when dealing with  patients, but you’ll never see him use any of the more friendly ones. 

This is because the two main friendly honorifics are -kun and -chan - which both have the ‘c’ and ‘k’ that trigger his stutter. Therefore, he finds it easier to avoid them all together rather than become embarrassed over his speech impediment.

[ Annoyance ] 

            it’s  in  gundham’s  nature  to  observe  –                           when his monologue ends, his eyes fall to the object his companion’s handling. with a snarl of poorly suppressed fury, gundham stands, a whirlwind of force, coat, scarf. ‘what,’ he begins, voice rumbling in the cavity of his chest, ‘what, pray tell, do you have the audacity to present to the overlord of ice?’ 

            he  knows  .  of  course  he  knows  .                    animals perish – that is a fact of life – but it is not for humans to decide where their remains end up. ‘did you harvest this, cur?’ his voice trembles, not with emotion, but severity. with a straightening spine, tanaka towers to his full height. ‘you dare seek my forgiveness, with your fingertips still stained scarlet? your reckoning will come, and soon!’ 

📋 - “P-present?!” Despite his ever present speech impediment, Elijah’s impatience  was clear. Irritating enough that he was jealous of his classmate’s ability to string long and convoluted sentences without fault or pause; but  this?!

“D-d-don’t act like I...like I shoved it in your f-face! This is...this is...!” he couldn’t find the focus to finish his sentence through his anger, placing the hollow bone back in its box and shutting the lid before he broke it in his frustration.

“I-I-I didn’t...di...didn’t k-k-kill it!” 

The anger and passion made harder for him to speak, harder to seem threatening as he stared back from his seated position. Still, he was determined not to move, should the ‘overlord of ice’ lash out...so be it.
