Something about queer people refusing to let institutionalised Christian morality the world determine their story for them
Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies-“God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
I haven’t read Kurt Vonnegut since I first read him in high school and I need to go back to his work.
I do love that Jesus rolls up to Whickber Street like “hey have you seen an immortal with funny eyes?” and without missing a beat Mutt’s Spouse is just like “oh our resident unhoused eldritch horror with unresolved trauma and substance abuse issues? yeah he’s right down there, can’t miss him.”
well apparently everyone else hates it. i do not. i love it. i love what they did with it, i love that crowley got to choose, i love that he chose humanity, that he did not choose to run away.
because THAT is who he is. he loves his stars and creations, he loves humanity, he loves the messiness, the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, he loves watching them. he showed jesus all the kingdoms of the world to share that love with someone who he knows already felt it.
in the end, they made that choice together. it's a choice they have made before, over and over, saving humanity over themselves. no god, no angels, no demons, no thousands of years of suffering for all the millions of eternal beings.
personally, i choose to believe that god's last gift to them was integrating them into the fabric of the new universe, so they will find each other in every lifetime. but without anyone watching, without any plan behind it, without senseless suffering, without creating stars just to destroy them.
just the two of them, together, always.
I had a hard time with the finale, but I want to firmly state how grateful I am to Rachel Talalay, David Tennant, Michael Sheen, and everyone who worked to give us any kind of ending at all. The longer I sit with it, the longer I feel like my qualms and grief with the ending are down to the ending being rushed, and the plot points feeling abrupt, and we all know that that was out of the hands of anyone who worked on this production. I won’t be rewatching the finale regularly, and I’ll probably stick mostly with Season 1 on any rewatches, but I know the love was there in the cast and crew. It’s extremely clear from the interviews and from posts from people like Rachel.
The real South Downs cottage was the friends we made along the way
Just checking back in to say I love you, Good Omens fandom; and all the joy and sadness you’ve brought for me; and for introducing me to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books when things got shitty; and for teaching me that I can still love reading and fictional worlds the same way I did when I was a child. May 2026 be good to us, and may we be good to each other.
Reposting because I wanted to say this again today.
I love y’all. Take care of yourselves. Check in with someone you love. 😘
🎊Happy New Year🎊
Hogfather
I hope they are readable but if not, try to click on them to see if they load up!
P.S. Read the Hogfather! It'll be worth it I promise.
Happy 2026
Rachel Talalay via insta. The new year has not yet begun and this feels like really good news
⭐️ Ornaments 🎄
They have handcrafted some ornaments and Aziraphale is excited to see that Crowley got to make some stars even during his retirement but he ALSO can't wait to show Crowley his own creation 🪶
Happy Holidays!
I had an idea, sorry
Is this from Muppet's Goncharov?
It is! Only the directors cut though.
