happy new year nathan!!!!! i found this absolutely beautiful picrew (link in rb) and i couldnt not make an aged up nate. :) it honestly healed something in me, to make this scared little character happy and thriving :) i like to think adam's taking the picture!! maybe they're on a little hike or something :)

and behold, a questionable number of years later, an adam in the same picrew :) adam is definitely a little fatter in my head, but this is pretty darn close! i didnt realize how similar they were since it had been so long since ive done nathans, but i think its still really cute.

its so cute seeing how when this blog started adam was just a twinkle in my eye. i knew he was going to be nathans love interest, but when i started writing him i didnt know anything about him. his placeholder name actually was Gavin, but i hated that so much that i worked for about two days to settle on something i enjoy. and Adam fits him so well <3
that said, a lot of his backstory is still q mystery to me. i dont really know whats going on in his life, i just get little snippets like hes whispering them to me. today, almost four years since the origin of this story, i realized why adam has so many broken heart songs in his playlist; why hes such a loner. he lived with a house full of guys in the original story; how could he have been lonely? but hes slowly revealed to me that hes a hopeless romantic, so of course he fell in love with one of his roommates. of course he seperated himself because of it. of course he did.
and then when they lost it all, where else would he find himself but in utopia? the reorganization ive done of this story makes so much more sense to me. adam is a romantic so why in the original draft was he not sweet, taking his time? its because there was no time to take. now he has all the time in the world to help this poor damaged boy. and i think thats beautiful
i dont know, i just wanted to throw some words at a wall. its a big think about adam day
me: all right, Adam and Nathan together on the island, time for them to be friends so they can help each other through the Horrors
