Hi!

Online, I go by Edaloo/Eda! This is a place for me to vent, dump some poetry, maybe writing (one day), random thoughts, and random things about my obsessions. I think I might have depression scratch that I'm diagnosed with major depressive disorder, but don't worry I can get help if I need it. I love interacting with people, so don't be shy! I'm here to listen, and honestly just vibe. I probably will not be active very consistently though😅

I am obsessed with many, many, MANY fandoms, so I'm going to try to list some of them. Rottmnt, Ninjago, keeper of the lost cities, anything by Brandon mull, harry potter, Percy Jackson/other stuff by Rick riordan, wings of fire, the owl house, amphibia, star vs the forces of evil, and more that I can't remember at the moment. I'm also a music nerd, and LOVE Greek mythology.

AO3 should have an Annotation Mode where you can click to view all of the author's commentary and thoughts about certain parts of the work. A little comment that says "I spent five hours researching vintage radio mechanics for this and didn't even end up using it" or "this is an ancient Hebrew literary technique!" would make my day

This, my friends, is what sharing the google doc is for. You can leave comments, your friends can leave coments, you can leave coments about the coments. You and how many other people you’ve shared it with can have entire conversations about that one rediculously funny line you wrote in the middle of paragraph 16.

Otherwise, footnotes. Footnotes are absolutely wonderful things that can be anything from informative to gut wrenching to downright hilarious.

Anybody else just get instantly exhausted when trying to figure out how someone else would feel about something? Like’s I’ll have something I wanna say, but then I try to take a step back like ‘how would I feel if someone said that to me’ but then I’ve gotta step back further because I’m not the same person as this other person and they’ve got different experiences than mine that will shape how they feel about and react to things so now I’ve gotta immagine how I would feel if I had had those experiences. But I haven’t had those experiences, and don’t know what they would feel like, and don’t know how they would shape my perspective. So I’m left standing there like ‘yeah, I have no idea how this person would feel about that, should I just say it anyways?’

I don’t know y’all. Am I just lazy and inconsiderate? Or is there a better way this whole ‘considering others feelings’ is supposed to work? Cuz I feel really bad when I hurt somebody’s feelings or make them feel uncomfortable, but like, my only current strategy for avoiding that is just not doing or saying anything, and that sucks ass.

A stranger on a plane told me the story of how his entire world changed when he met god. There was such earnestness in his attempt to make me believe. He’d had such a world rocking and awe inspiring experience, he desperately wanted everyone else to have it to.

I wish I could have explained to him that I have. I’ve had that moment of realization that everything you thought you knew was merely a dim shadow in a cave and there is a whole world out there so much brighter and more beautiful than you could have imagined, that moment where you break free of all these things you thought you needed but were actually killing you, and for the first time, you breathe in, and know what it feels like to be alive.
