Scott was moving so desperately in season five, and I understand why, he was stressed, upset and depressed. the dread doctors and theo were fucking with shit in beacon hills and fucking with him, respectively, in a way that he's never been fucked with before, and he was in a position of responsibility that he honestly has never had to be in before not to the extent he was in season 5 anyway. he's always had other people to turn to, many of which had more experience than he does and arguably had or would take on just as much (if not more) responsibility to deal with the supernatural as he did but that was no longer true true for season five. Like everything truly was on him and he was functionally alone, as a leader, and then was isolated from his pack. Like, damn they really had my man STRESSED.

Thing is, Jack and Kate were never meant to be. The Island was Jack's destiny all along, and they both knew it since the very beginning.

But they fell in love anyway, despite their best efforts. So they got stuck with all that love they have for each other and no idea what to do with it or how to handle it.

So he is putting her well-being above everything and showering her with his love, asking nothing in return. While Kate has no idea how to express her love except with actions. So she stops running and stays by his side.

"Are you with me?" "I've always been with you"

And it frustrates her so much that he just doesn't get it. Until the very end. Until it's too late.

I do know that Juliet is extraordinarily drawn to him. If she and Jack would get together, they would be an incredible couple. They could accomplish so much because they both have such strength. But as far as who would have the upper hand… When you even think about going to a romantic place, what a tumultuous situation that would be. You can’t imagine that they would be docile with each other in any way because they would keep going at each other. One person always has to be the top dog. It could work brilliantly. They could be each other’s loves of their lives. They are both so brilliant and so good at what they do, and in a way so socially inept. They are both great leaders but they aren’t that great at expressing themselves. They aren’t good about their feelings or emotions. They are so backward in some areas and so forward in others, but if they could make it work, it would be amazing. It’s like ramming puzzle pieces together and there’s only the smallest possibility that the right fit is going to happen.
