Alright folks here it is. Enjoy the fluff and little bits of slash.
Joff walked peacefully down the street one surprisingly warm autumn day. A sweet smile on his face as the crunch of the fallen leafs under his feet sparked lovely memories of the mountain monastery where he grew up. Suddenly he was taken out of his daze of thought as his bumped into some kind of solid mass.
“Woah Joff, you got your head up in the clouds again.” The teasing voice said. Letting out a soft chuckle the monk looked up to see the bright smile of his lover Nick Army. The pair shared a quick kiss before continuing on together.
“Yes, I suppose I am a bit distracted today. Autumn is my most favorite time of year. The feel of the air and the look of the trees remind me of home.” Nick looked down at Joff who was looking off dreamily just like before. He loved seeing his boyfriend so happy, but worried he might bump into something else so Nick grabbed his hand.
“You haven’t been back there in a while have you?” Joff sighed nodding. It had been some time since he’d last gone to visit his parents. He missed them and his old home, especially around this time of year.
“But hey, no need to be down sugar pop. Besides, doesn’t someone have a Birthday today?” Nick teased and it made Joff smile. Birthdays hadn’t ever been a big deal for his family growing up and it makes him happy when Nick does make a big fuss about it.
“Nick please, you’ve done this the last two years. You know that I am not one for such celebration.” Nick nodded letting go of Joff’s hand and putting his arm around him.
“I know babe and I’ve learned my lesson. This year will be different. Just a nice night for two. Order some take out, rent a couple cheesey movies and cuddle on the couch for a while.” Joff blushed a bit hearing these plans. Nick really did consider what he’d want. He put his arm around Nick’s waist pulling him closer. The two smiled brighter as they wondered down the street to the plaza.
“And what about after the movie?” Joff’s voice turned low as he moved his hand a little to grab Nick’s butt. Nick was surprised since Joff isn’t usually so forward, but he smiled mischievously and leaned over a bit to whisper in the other man’s ear.
“I have a very special surprise ready for that. Something you’ll never forget.” Nick’s hot breath tickled at his ear making Joff giggle before planting a little kiss on his lover’s cheek. He loved when Nick would surprise him with something new.
The two soon came to the plaza and released their embrace. Neither of them were very fond of PDA and there were several others around now. They split up to do their various errands and agreed to meet back at the smoothie bar at two o'clock. Joff wondered over to the bodega to pick up a few essentials and Nick wait for him to go in before jetting off to the jewelry store. Once he opened the door he was greeted by a man in a nice suit.
“Hello there sir, is there something I can help you with today?” Nick nodded walking up to the counter. He looked over the items in the display case for a moment before speaking in a much softer voice then normal.
“Yes actually. I’m looking for something “special” for my boyfriend, ya know what I mean?” The clerk gave a smirk and a chuckle at the light blush on the soldier boy’s face.
“Oh yes I think I do. Please follow me this way sir and I’ll show you our options.” Nick followed the man into another room where he brought out several rings.
“Now then sir, did you have any particular style in mind?” Nick thought for a moment and shook his head.
“Well then, what type of person is your lover?” Nick smiled thinking about Joff. Just picturing the man’s warm and sunny smile made him feel so good.
“He’s very sweet and innocent. He doesn’t really like flashy things. He’s calm, kind hearted, attentive, and always has a kind word or a shoulder to cry on. I can’t imagine how my life would be without him anymore.” The clerk gave a warm smile and nodded.
“Wow, you really love this man don’t you?” Nick smiled, his blush becoming brighter. He really did love Joff that’s why this night had to be perfect.
“Well these are our simplist designs here. Silver bands and single center jewels. The jewel can of course be customized.” Nick looked over the rings before settling on a silver band with a medium size center jewel.
“Can we make the jewel a Tourmaline? It’s Joff’s favorite. He says the colors of the stone remind his of universal energys.” The clerk nodded and set to work finding the right stone and placing it in the ring. After Nick payed for the ring he wondered down to the smoothie bar to wait for Joff. All the way feeling like a nervous reck over his surprise.
It was only about fifteen minutes before Joff also entered the shop, quickly finding Nick and sitting across from him. Nick looked up from checking his phone and smiled.
“Got all your shopping done hun? We still need to hit the movie store and the Korean food place before heading back to my place.” Joff nodded and the two got up leaving the shop. Since it was Joff’s birthday Nick let him pick the movies they’d watch. He chose two of his favorite movies and the two went off to grab their take out. Finally it was about four o'clock when they walked into Nick’s apartment.
“We ready to get this night started babe?” Nick asked in his usual confident voice giving Joff a quick kiss.
“Yes love, this is going to be wonderful.” Joff said pulling Nick closer into a warm embrace. The two held each other for a bit before settling down for an early dinner.
Asian food was one of the pair’s favorite things, since it had plenty of meat for Nick and Vegan options for Joff. The two happily ate and talked for an hour or so until they were full. Then they went over to Nick’s couch and popped in the first movie getting comfortable. The couch was big so the couple could cuddle however they wanted.
“Hey Joff, I’ve got a question for you.” The monk looked up at the man snuggled behind him.
“What is it Nick? Is something the matter?” Nick chuckled and shook his head.
“No, at least not right now. But I need to know, are you afraid of monsters?” Monsters? Why would Nick ask such a thing? Then it hit him, oh no. Joff was about to pull away when Nick locked his muscular arm around his waist. The monk tensed as his lover’s eyes became almost preditory.
“What’s wrong hun? You look nervous? Are you actually scared of monsters?” Joff shook his head and playfully tried to get the arm off of him with no luck. Nick then slipped his other arm under Joff and managed to undo the belt that held his shirt closed revealing the slim yet toned figure of his lover.
“Nick, don’t you dare. I’m still sensitive from last time.” Nick chuckled at the panic in Joff’s voice as he lightly traced a finger up the man’s side making him shiver and yelp.
“Don’t worry babe, I’ll be gentle with you.” The teasing voice against Joff’s neck made him giggle and try to squirm out of the other man’s grasp, again no luck. Nick then shifted and quickly pinned Joff’s arms over his head exposing his torso to a mischievously smiling Nick.
“I could give you another option babe.” Nick teased tracing his fingers in random shapes across his lover’s abs and sides making more giggles bubble out of him.
“W-What would that be?” Nick smirked bending down against the Monk’s ear.
“Close your eyes beautiful.” Joff wasn’t sure if he should trust the man on top of him but obeyed. Nick knew this was his chance and reached into his pocket pulling out a small velvet box. He popped it open to see the ring shine in the dim light. Smiling he released Joff’s arms and sat up pulling the monk into his lap.
“Here’s the deal hun. I won’t tickle you to death tonight if I hear the right answer to the next question okay?” Joff nodded, his eyes still closed.
“Alright then, open your eyes and I’ll ask the question.” Joff slowly opened his eyes and froze when he saw what Nick was holding. Tears began to well up in his eyes and Nick pulled him a bit closer to keep the man from falling off.
“Joff, will you marry me?” The monk grinned so wide Nick thought his face would split in two. Joff wrapped his arms around Nick’s neck and held him tight. Soon Nick heard soft crying and pulled Joff away to look at his face again. His smile had softened and tears ran down his cheeks which Nick promptly wiped away.
“Yes Nick. Yes, yes,yes I will marry you. I’m so happy.” Joff finally chocked out. Nick beamed and slide the ring on to Joff’s ring finger. The two shared a long and tender kiss holding each other tight.
“I’m even happier Joff. Happy birthday hubby, I love you.” Joff felt himself tearing up again as he ran his hands over Nick’s hair gently.
“I love you too darling. You know, announcing our engagement could be just the excuse I need to go visit my parents.” Nick agreed and the two laid back down and snuggled up both feeling lighter than air.
Have a nice day everyone.
