I don’t get why people hate Sharon’s arc in TFATWS so much … you guys really do hate to see a girlboss winning.
@spectroscopes so? He's a hero. He killed in self-defense. And Sharon is soon to become a villain with what seemed to be greedy and selfish intentions--not caring if she gets to trample over people to get to the top. Let's not kid ourselves, Marvel doesn't have a good track record in handling villains. I may be proven wrong, I hope...but until then, she's looking like just another generic Marvel villain.

Only way I'm forgiving Marvel for this atrocity is for them to give us Bucky x Sharon! (oh, and Sharon's eventual redemption arc).
The Cap trio we deserved...
Bucky, Sharon and Sam on an undercover mission.
Emily is getting some love from the crew!
Just thought of something...
Sharon Carter can get Batroc out of prison and she can't get herself a pardon?
Even if she bust him out outside of legal means, this could only mean that she herself can get out of jail anytime anyway. So, why isn't she going back to the States.
Was seeking a pardon a lie? I know clearing her name is a little different. But as it stands, if she wasn't a criminal before, she certainly is now so why is it important to her?
Well, that was disappointing...
If they were going to make her a villain, at least make a compelling reason other than "I was forgotten so I'm just going to make my own evil empire." It's just not going to stand. Even Karli's motivations are (for me) a little shaky but at least they are noble.
I'm starting to think she's a skrull. But that would be disappointing because that meant she wasn't even badass anymore. At this point, whether she turned out good or bad, I'm not seeing a satisfying ending for Sharon.
Oh well, one more episode to go...
With what little we've gotten of Sharon she's been acting off. Do you think she's the Power Broker like other people have said?
i've been very clear in my previous posts i think that's the dumbest theory i've ever heard. you can’t just say she’s a villain because she’s “acting off” or “acting sus”. why would she be the pb? for shits and giggles? because she’s bored? what’s the character motivation behind that? because “she’s acting weird” isn’t evidence or motive.
emily vancamp did an interview saying all sharon wants is a pardon and to go home, and it’s been her main motivation the whole season. she’s said sharon loved being an agent and wants that life back. being the pb is in direct conflict with that goal, it would not help her return home and would in fact only hinder her. not only does she have no motive to be the pb she has motive to not be the pb or even associated with him.
sharon acting off/suspicious is more evidence of her being an undercover agent than her being a villain. she has history of lying about her identity, motives, and goals in service of fury and her job. when we first met her we thought she was a nurse named kate and we didn’t even find out her last name was carter and she was related to peggy until peggy’s funeral in civil war. even steve was so thrown off and uneasy finding out she was undercover that he wondered whether he could trust her in ca:tws.
people and even villains don’t casually have access to satellites and we have no reason to believe sharon is a hacker or has access to accomplished hackers. if she has access to satellites that’s just more evidence she still has her agent clearance.
sharon still behaves like an agent and takes care of sam and bucky as if she was an agent shadowing them and looking out for them. once again in the winter soldier she was assigned as a shadow to protect steve so this is in-line with past actions and behavior.
tfatws has been promoting sharon as agent 13 and even released concept art of her in a beta suit. agent 13 is an agent, not a thug or criminal. sebastian, when asked about sharon carter said “she’s agent 13, she’s a bad ass”. emily said sharon in the show is more accurate to her comic character than the movies were.
emily vancamp was shot filming in a pants suit for episode 6 so clearly she’s back home and not in madripoor anymore. and her roots have been touched up which indicates she’s no longer a fugitive in hiding.
idk why people keep claiming she’s the pb but it’s the laziest conclusion i’ve ever seen.
There have been pervasive rumors now about the virus-related subplot that they have to write out because of the pandemic. If you think about it in that context, Sharon's actions make more sense. Sharon had to stay behind in Madripoor to figure out who is behind the virus or to track down the virus.
Also, this is her concept art...I don't know about anybody else, but that looks like an agent to me. And we haven't seen this one yet.
Unless they changed her costume to this one?
But I will disagree on her being marketed as an "agent" as a definitive sign she really is an agent. If she really was supposed to be the big bad and it's supposed to be a big twist, they wouldn't really say that out loud. My prediction is that the Power Broker will just appear as a end-credit scene as he sounds more like an over-arching villain that spreads over multiple Disney+ series.
Anyway, I think people just want her to be more than she appears to be because there's so much potential in her character. And it's weird how we (the audience) cannot see the trajectory of her character arc. So, we have to make one ourselves and are going wild with it. (it's Mephisto thing all over again.)
I say just enjoy the ride. If she becomes the PB, it's still a good thing because we get to see more of her in a bigger role in the future (even though it doesn't make sense for her to be into the market of making super-soldiers). If she's not the PB though, let's cross fingers and hope she makes it to the next Avengers team-up movie.
Writing this now before Ep. 4 comes out...
I hope...John Walker comes to Madripoor to track down Sam and Bucky then runs into Sharon instead. He tries to charm her, offers her a pardon on a silver platter but Sharon just sees through the BS.
And then, Sharon does what she does best. She steals the shield, again.
Gimme Fake Cap vs Sharon Carter fight—Pretty PLEASE!
Yay! Sharon has the best lines this episode!
