Iron Man (Tony Stark) and Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) are looking for Captain America (Steve Rogers) when they found that he is not in his room. It turns out that Captain America is busy fighting Batroc the Leaper and his brigade in the streets of New York City. After Captain America defeats Batroc and his thugs, Thor enters and congratulates Steve on his victory. Captain America states he isn't used to the future, but Thor assures that he will adapt to it eventually.
Immediately afterwards, Iron Man calls for the Avengers to assemble at a Stark Industries warehouse where A.I.M. is raiding his technology. Captain America and Thor make it to the scene to discover a Super Adaptoid that copies their abilities. The remaining Avengers arrive to assist the two only for the Adaptoid to replicate their abilities as well. Captain America discovers the weak point in it's chest and strikes a devastating blow to the Adaptoid, shutting it down for good. Steve Rogers returns to his bedroom at the Avengers Mansion to find a gift (an MP3 player) given to him by Wasp. He changes the playlist on his MP3 from the 'Greatest Hits of the 1940s' to 'Modern' and listen to the music with a smile on his face.

Batroc's first appearance, Tales of Suspense #75, came out December 1965. It's been just over 60 years of him-- and I highly recommend checking out his old appearances because I verbatim see it as 'oh he was always like that.' Seriously. Guy is French, kicks people, and his accent gets more and more absurd until someone in editorial presumably demands it to stop. He's not the best dressed, but he's the funniest Marvel villain in my heart.

I had a dream that Gwen was having a serious discussion about her mental health with Batroc, but then she off-handedly mentions Jason Todd and Batroc says "You always mention this Jason man as if I'm meant to know who he is..." and then she spends the next 20-ish minutes explaining Jason Todd, and I'm gonna be honest I woke up before she was finished, so she would've probably gone for longer
