my beloved appealshipping :) a redraw/continuation of an old drawing from 2021 (under the cut along with design stuff as always)

august 2021 -> may 2024

this was the first digital drawing i think i was ever like super proud of. you can see how far ive come with colours and understanding how clothes & anatomy work since back then. however, i still really liked how they were dressed (especially how they matched :>) and decided to just tweak them to what i wanted. dawn's outfit was initially based on how she looked in an official advertisement (dominos pizza i think ???) which is why her hairstyle was a bit weird. in my second drawing i changed it to look more like her usual hairstyle because i like it more. zoey's outfit was meant to be a tuxedo but i wasn't super familiar with how suits work; i gave her a vest & jacket buttons in the second drawing to make it look a bit more fancy and formal but also because i was initially missing a yellow element from her outfit and this time i wouldn't have the shoes for that navy element. i love how the new one looks and theres still stuff im not super pleased with but its definitely an improvement and i loved making it :)

Headcanons for Appealshipping? (Dawn x Zoey)

fun fact about me i actually ADORE appealshipping and looking back its one of those ships that i shipped before i knew what shipping or being queer was lol

Their first date came after a Contest that neither of them won. They choose to see that as their first date, at least, since the long conversation over hot chocolate then ended with a kiss.

Zoey actually loves gardening. Dawn isn’t the biggest fan of it herself, but she doesn’t mind being the person to bring Zoey some lemonade or lunch while she’s working in the garden.

Despite having different styles, the two of them love going shopping together. They sometimes do that thing where they create outfits for each other, sometimes with a higher success rate than others.

Dawn is shorter than Zoey, and chooses to use that to her advantage when she wants Zoey’s arm around her. Zoey likes to say that Dawn fits perfectly in her arms.

They’re one of those super-sweet couples who doesn’t mind light PDA. Some of their other Coordinator friends tease them about it, which only makes them do it more.
