One bat fandom thing that bothers me is people insisting that duke hates hal or hals scared of him. They interact in dark days the forge and the casting and they actually get along pretty well. Duke was instructed to guard the batcave, while hal was told to investigate by the guardians. They fight due to these clashing motives

But pretty soon after this they team up to investigate since, big surprise, bruce was hiding something

And they both show genuine concern for the other, far from the petty hate/fear that fanon portrays

And finally, my favorite part, hal gives him a loner ring. He also calls him kid which is sweet. But the point is he trusts him enough to give him an incredibly powerful weapon

Basically hals reaction to duke was "oh shit bruce got another kid, it's cool uncle time." Also no green lanterns are scared of the bats. Overcoming fear is their whole thing. The lantern beef is strictly a bruce thing, and not nearly as exaggerated as it is in fanon (i still find that panel of bruce dubbing simon the one tolerable lantern funny). Also petition to make duke a lantern just because it would be really funny

How about this Kon is secretly a crybaby. He wants to seem much more stoic, impenetrable and funny than he actually is. And then he checks to make sure no one is within a kilometer and cries >:]

For anyone unaware: Kon lived with his manager, Rex Leech, for his first year of existence. Their funds all came from Rex's scummy business practices and from selling Superboy merch and media. Between that and Kon dating a reporter, Superboy was a household name and Kon was lowkey a profitable dancing monkey for the people who should have been looking out for him. Most of this is from before he even had a name so he was just "Superboy" all the time.
