here’s a reminder that if you don’t have muji pens or have staedtler fineliners or drink pretty lattes each morning with perfect lighting, your studyblr is just as good or maybe even better than ones that do. expensive shit is worthless. at the end of the day, the studying gets done, whether on moleskine notebooks or loose leaf from office max, and that’s the point of studyblr. study. work hard and I believe in you!
We will begin our chasing waterfalls adventure series, with the amazing Da-o Falls. ☺
Situated at Brgy. Suba, Da-o Falls is one of the best gems that Samboan, Cebu, Philippines offers to the world. From the main highway, a 10-15 minute ride is needed to reach the starting point /registration site. As for Ian and me, we chartered a tricycle going there instead of the local “habal-habal”. It is more convenient and less “init” but its main downside is that it ain’t fast compared to the habal-habal.
Along the road, we were greeted by the a countryside-feeling. Growing up in the rurals, I must say, indeed I miss this laid back living. We saw local agriculture plants such as corns and coconuts can be found on the way as well as animals like the albino carabao, goats and cows.
Upon reaching the registration area, local tourist need to pay 10 pesos for the environmental fee. For those who will be bringing their cars, worry not since there is also a parking lot there. You just need to pay extra amount. After registering, you will then be obligatorily assigned to a tour guide. No fixed amount is needed for the tour guide fee, 50-100 pesos is much appreciated.
The trek going towards the falls is about 20-25 minutes depending on how fast your group is. Compared to the other famous falls in town, you really need to exert effort here, so better anticipate. Never fret though, you won’t mind the long journey/trekking if you enjoy nature’s beauty.
To get across a river, locals built a long, bamboo hanging bridge. Having to cross it is quite cool. The bridge seems keep on swaying especially when a someone walks/runs.
Going towards the falls, you can marvel of God’s amazing creations. The scenery is very nice.
We also pass by some huge limestones.
Going nearer the falls, we saw this amazing view. The turquoise color of the water and the surrounding rock formations is a sight to behold.
Finally, after the long trek, i can see a glimpse of the falls... Gamay’ng push nalang.
Luck is upon us. Since we started to do trekking earlier, no other tourist were there. I suggest you better do the same. Choose to visit Dao falls first so as to avoid the crowd and take advantage of the view minus the photobombers. ☺
After the long trekking, swimming, quality time with the cool waters of Da-o Falls and very picturesque view is worth it. We were one with nature.
