new hyperfixation nyehrhehr i love wemmbu chat
HI HI HI!! @apoemofarsoninspace MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
I GOT YOU AS MY GIFT!
SO SUPER SORRY ABT THE DELAY!! I DONT KNOW WHY MY VPN WASNT WORKING!!!
I chose the prompt Mitsi,Victim, and Agent for my gift!!:) merry Christmas again and happy holidays
Merry Christmas (fellow yellow enthusiast!!) @apricity-2 !! I made your present based off your prompt of the color gang, Purple and Mango playing in the snow!! It's below the cut, hope you enjoy :) (word count: 1708)
Mango finished draping the scarf over Purple, taking a step back and examining them like he was determining the final touches of a masterpiece.
“You said that was the last piece!” Purple whined, half-serious. They looked twice their size with all the coats and extra layers they were forced to wear. Their cheeks were already getting rosy from the warmth.
“Something’s missing, I know it.” Mango insisted. Purple sighed, sinking into their puffercoat. Their father took a few more seconds before his gaze landed on their bare hands. “Mittens! That’s the one. I have these cute SpongeBob ones…” His voice trailed off as he searched in the nearby closet.
Purple rocked on their feet impatiently. They weren’t particularly fond of this elaborate routine every time they went outside during the winter, but they knew it helped when Mango felt like his child was protected. Only one thing was off now: the mittens didn’t fit, the length only good enough to get past their knuckles.
“This isn’t gonna work, Dad. These are, uh.. Size ten to twelve,” The shorter stick squinted at the tag, hand shooting to cover their mouth when they realized the implications. They curled in on themselves as Mango reached over.
“They don’t fit. That’s– that makes sense.” He finally responded after removing the mittens and squeezing them in his hands. He refocused his previously averted attention to the child in front of him although he remained almost imperceptibly tense. “I need to drop by the store then…”
“I’m sorry.” Purple smiled lopsidedly, not wanting to hit that sore spot of his again.
“Don’t be.” He patted the kid’s head, covered in a beanie. “You’re already late, I don’t want to have you miss the whole thing.”
“It wouldn’t be so bad if it means spending time with you.” Purple tried to lift his spirits, and was pleased to receive a smile and a pat on the head in response. “I’ll be back before it gets dark, don’t worry. Bye Dad.” They reassured, finally picking up their bag and heading out the door.
A brisk breeze hit them, blowing past their face and stinging their eyes. Purple blinked a few times as they acclimated on their way to the park. It was only a few blocks away– any further and Mango would’ve insisted on driving them over. They arrived within a few minutes and they were met with the sight of a shivering Red, arms crossed and brows furrowed.
“Why are you in shorts?” Purple yelped once they noticed, speeding up their pace.
“Oh hey P-P-Purple!” His teeth chattered but his determination to appear unaffected was strong. “It’s all g-good, I’m not cold.”
“Wh… you are not fooling anyone. You’re clearly–” They began to argue, only to get tackled by a quick hug from behind. They nearly tumbled into the snow, a green mitten reaching to catch them instead.
“Woah sorry!” Green, the mittens’ owner, caught Purple around the waist to keep them upright. The two locked eyes and he grinned. “I just missed you. I was starting to think you gave up on us.”
Purple wasn’t sure if it was the cold making their cheeks so red anymore. “You know I wouldn’t.” They nudged him, light silence falling over them briefly. Their attention was diverted when they caught the sound of Red’s teeth chattering again. “What’s going on with him?”
“He forgot to wear something warm.” He shrugged. “It’s not like he didn’t know where we were going. He was raving about this all morning. But it’s fine, cause you’re not cold, are you Red?” He explained, the last comment hinting at playfulness.
Red only answered with a sniffle, his gaze hardly moving from its spot staring into the distance.
“That’s cruel! He’s gonna get sick.” Purple zipped down their outermost layer, a jacket, and offered it to the brighter figure. It wouldn’t impact their temperature all that much, but it would make a huge difference for Red. He quickly slipped it on and brought his knees to his chest. It was clear his stubbornness had cracked. “Take this too, jeez…” They removed their beanie with a silent prayer that their hair wasn’t too frizzy and put it on the other figure.
“I.. kinda forgot about that actually. I was only trying to mess with him.” Green guiltily pressed his lips together into a thin line.
“Forgot what? That you can get sick?” Purple was caught off guard by the comment. Surely created sticks could get sick, right?
“Yeah. No one really comes onto the PC and the weather doesn’t change, so we don’t get many chances, I guess.”
“Lucky you.” They pulled up their phone for a moment, sending a text to Mango before sliding it back into their pocket.
> Do u mind bringing spare snow pants? Red forgot his. Ty!!
They didn’t bother checking for when a response arrived. They were busy trying to get back all that time here they missed. Purple looked for the rest of their friends and spotted them among two near-identical snowmen.
“Purple!” Blue, Yellow, and Orange shouted their greeting in unison.
“Can you help? It’s the final round but I can’t decide which is better. I also don’t want to get beat up by one of these idiots.” Blue’s lips quirked up into a smile as she spoke.
“I didn’t take them for that sore of losers.” Purple laughed, their breath visible in the cold air. “I sure can try, though. You got a guideline or something?”
“This round the theme was ‘classic’.” She responded. The former examined the carefully crafted snowmen, both of their creators looking equally proud as they stood by. Purple made a silent decision and whispered to Blue who seemed to agree.
“After careful consideration, the winner has been chosen.” They announced, acting professional and assuming a judge-like facade. “With a unanimous decision, the winner of the snowman competition 2025 is Yellow!” They revealed, watching as their friend’s face lit up. They could tell she needed that, unfortunately though, Blue’s prediction wasn’t wrong.
“No! I call bias!!” Orange declared, reaching down to the emergency snowball pile they made and hurling two at Purple and Blue respectively. Purple managed to narrowly dodge, but the other judge wasn’t so lucky, receiving a hit straight to the face.
“Oof!” She wiped it off. “I literally brought in an outside judge! That’s not biased!” Blue defended, reading herself for a barrage of more attacks to come.
“Must’ve been bribery then! I deserved that win!” Orange insisted mischievously, and it soon became apparent they were just looking for a reason to start a fight. Not that anyone here was against it, but they tended to get a bit intense.
As if on cue, there came Red’s battle cry ringing out, as he, now more suited for the cold weather, heaved a snowball larger than his head towards Orange. Well, that escalated quicker than normal. Somehow he managed the strength and it hit them square in the chest. They fell over and wheezed, immediately trying to recover.
Purple took the opportunity and sought cover, which they found behind a snow covered bench. They started to gather their own arsenal from the fresh snow, the crunch making a satisfying noise. Open and vulnerable on the park-turned-battlefield, Green smoothly glided across a slippery patch of ice, entering their base, but before they could banish him, he protested.
“Wait!” He held up his hands in mock surrender. “Let’s team up. Trust me, you’re not gonna stand a chance against Red.”
“Hmm… fine. Help me make these before we’re found out.” They instructed, their pile growing rapidly as screams rang in the background. They would never say no to Green anyway. Wait, a thought hit Purple. Red got those snow pants. That means… Dad’s here? They stopped what they were doing and peeked over the bench just in time to hear a gasp from Blue.
There stood that tall orange colored figure, stunned before he could walk away after his delivery, a snowball covering his eye. The air remained thick as he angrily flicked off the snow. The tension only broke when he put on his best villain impression and smacked his fist to his palm mock threateningly.
“Now you’ve done it!” Expertly, he rushed to the snowman and lifted its head, swinging it towards his attacker, a decent show of strength. Blue shrieked and scrambled away. The projectile hit her leg and knocked her face-first into the snow. “I still got it.” He chuckled, murmuring to himself.
Purple hid back behind the bench and looked at Green, who genuinely looked somewhat frightened after seeing the new threat for himself. “C’mon, let’s knock him out!”
“Okay,” He shook out of his stupor. “But we’ll probably need more than this between the two of us to knock him out. And a good plan.” He began creating more snowballs, ensuring they were tightly packed and a good size.
The two recognized their time to prepare getting shorter and shorter as sounds of their friends’ dramatic screams increased. They rushed to discuss and execute their plan before their spot was potentially discovered.
Green made the first move, slyly gathering his half of the arsenal and throwing them at Mango in quick succession. Many of the hits landed, drawing Mango towards the icy sidewalk as he tried to dodge. When Green ran out, Purple took the chance and hurled a larger snowball in his direction. He whipped around and slipped, falling harmlessly on the sidewalk.
“Haha!” Purple thrusted their fist into the air triumphantly. “We did it!” She high fived the approaching Green, and glanced back when she heard clapping. The defeated Mango got to his feet and clapped his hands together.
“A victory well earned.” He nodded. He broke his character with how wholeheartedly proud he was of his child, even if the achievement was in a play fight.
The other fallen figures joined him in applause, earning a bright smile on Purple’s face. They playfully curtsied towards their crowd, soaking in the praise, and despite the unseriousness of it all, they almost wanted to cry. It was nearing their first full year with these people, and they wouldn’t have rather spent it with anyone else.
