Standard swords-and-sorcery fantasy romp, except the party is seemingly oblivious to the fact that their wizard is a teenage girl in a gray costume beard.

It's a Perry the Platypus situation. If she's missing a single piece of her wizard getup, the party will fail to recognize her as their wizard unless they literally watched her remove it or they hear her speak.

Somehow, they still recognize her when her beard is missing.

If she's missing everything except the beard, they think she's an imposter disguised as their wizard.

She's a natural talent at one or two branches of magic, but most of what the party asks her for is stuff she either has no idea how to do yet or literally can't do for whatever reason. She spends as much time arranging circumstances to look like she did something magical as she does learning actual magic. There's a throughline of comedic tension over the possibility of the party finding out she's not a real wizard.

When her secret is eventually discovered, everyone talks things out fairly painlessly, and the party goes forth with a better understanding of each other. The fact that she's not actually a 200-year-old man is never acknowledged.

One day she "casts disguise spell" and just removes all her wizard getup, beard and all. The party oohs and aahs like she just pulled a miracle.

A party member gets her beard glue for her birthday.

This is all a sideplot by the way. The main story follows something else. Like it's fundamentally important to the vision that this wizard is not what the main focus of the story.
