Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have done it again - this cool, electronic soundtrack reflects David Fincher’s Gone Girl perfectly. taken from one of my favorite scenes, “Technically, Missing” is a quiet piece with waves of buildup typical of a Reznor & Ross composition, and, as with their other tracks, it leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting for who-knows-what.

The folks that live in our apartment building are in their 20s, out of school, either “made it” or are in possession of some deep trust funds, and love to turn up. Fortunately for us, and occasionally for them, they have good taste in music. As they sat on the terrace below us this afternoon, drinking wine with their fashionable friends, “Carter & Cash” came up on their party mix.

Also, why haven’t I met a Brooklyn boy like Tor Miller yet?

My immediate reaction upon completing a first listen-through of M83′s “Junk” was not overly enthusiastic. The muzak-esque melodies lack conviction and substance, compared to the soaring soundscapes that “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming” was lauded for.

“Bibi the Dog”, a funky dance-y little number featuring Mai Lan, is one of the stronger tracks on the album, and one that I’ll be cycling through pretty regularly in the next few weeks.
