Snippet #3
"Because it's your past? I already told you mine, I can't possibly judge yours." "Well, yeah," Luca allowed, but rubbed the bridge of his nose with continuing worry. "Anyway," he sighed, "may as well get to it."
"I was born to a caravan of gypsies. I was the first of many other children that they were to have. I was also the only one to have the eyes of a magic user. So I was given over to my grandfather for weekly lessons on how to hone my skills. the first flower I produced was a white clover. my mother was so happy, and my father as well. by the time I was 15, I had so many siblings we couldn't keep track, and not one of them was another magic user. so it was just me and my grandfather. our family made up the caravan, and we would stop in towns and do tricks for the people, and try to make some money for food. we were pretty well off all things considered. but I began to notice that some of my siblings would pay close attention to the girls in the cities, and I felt nothing towards them. instead, a boy would catch my eye and soon id be working my charm over on him instead of a girl, like normal men did. my grandfather noticed this eventually, and he.. well.. he wasn't happy about it. I woke up after flirting with that boy covered in bruises, and one of my ankles shattered." James made a noise of sympathy and sadness and Luca waved it off, continuing "I immediately rushed to my parents and told them what happened. My father and mother were extremely understanding, and my mother said that as soon as she saw me learning the flower language, she knew I was different, my father had apparently even went out with some other boys in his younger days before settling down with my mother. everyone was accepting of me. except for my older cousin Droog, and my Grandfather. They would tease me and my grandfather would corner me every chance he got, shouting at me until one of my siblings distracted him. Finally when I was 19 it came to a head. My parents and siblings had gone out into town, leaving me to look over the smallest baby. They promised to be back soon and so I settled down with a good book and waited. My grandfather and cousin apparently found out that I was alone and came in to the tent, knocking over tables and chairs, until they had cornered me. My grandfather started slapping my face and ounching my stomach, and then my cousin reached down to grab the baby... And the next thing I knew, they were both dead on the ground, gigantic thorns protruding from their bodies, and the baby was safely in his cradle. sleeping soundly. I panicked, knowing that my magic had done this, and so I wrote a note to my family, gathered my things, and I left."
James sat dumbfounded. He had not expected such a story from the skinny little gypsy. Honestly, he had never quite believed in magic, until Luca had come along. He had heard stories of what magic could do, but he hadn't been prepared for something like that. The butler looked at his little mouse, sitting broken backed and staring at his hands, and cautiously put a hand on his shoulder. When Luca leaned into the contact, he shifted and wrapped his arms around the gypsy. "Little mouse, you were justified. You were protecting yourself and your sibling." Luca rested his head against the crisp shirt James wore, and sighed as though the weight of the world were removed from him. Really, it probably was, James thought. "would you like to tell me about how you got on after that, my little thief?" James took a chance and hoped that that would bring Luca back to him, not make him angry.
Luca merely snuggled closer to the butler 'I did well , actually. didn't use my magic for awhile, but then came to terms with the fact that my magic was protecting myself and my brother and started using it to get money and food. Found a nice little place to stay too. A hollow in this giant pine tree that actually made for quite a good little home, although it gets really drafty in the winter." Luca looked up at the blue eyed butler. "So, that's my story, and how i ended up here because of my drafty little hollow pine."
"well, thank god for the hollow in the pine," James muttered. Luca, pressed so close, heard and smirked up at him. "I was thinking the same thing." James cocked his head to the right. "so, my little mouse, are those all our skeletons laid out to dry?" The gypsy shook his head. "I don't know how to say this but..." he took a dramatic pause, "I'm gay." The butler gasped sharply. "NO!" "YES!" Luca laughed back. "And I have feelings for someone. A MAN." "Well, out with it then, who is it you have these scandalous feelings for?" The gypsy looked away wistfully. "He's a butler... oh damn it all, it's you!" the two laughed together at their performance. "Letta would be glad to see this." "Indeed, she would."
THE MOST IMPORTANT OTP QUESTION: CAN THE BIGGER ONE PICK UP THE SMALLER ONE IF THEY HUGGED??????? THINK ABOUT IT.
Snippet #2
luca shook his head with a slight grin, knowing that he would have to spur james into action if any of this conversation was going to go anywhere. so luca stood, and as james looked up at him, luca extended his hand to james, who took is with a slight smile, and luca led them to the bed, where they both sat, still holding hands. "Alright james, I promise, as much of a thief and a spy and a ruffian, I am very good at handling sensitive information. so please, tell me what you can, and we can figure out the rest when the time comes." james smirked "If all I had to do was reveal my deep dark secrets to you to get you to be quiet, we would've had this conversation a long time ago."
James took a deep breath and tilted his head up to gaze at the ceiling. Luca kept his eyes on James, trying to seem open and inviting. "When I was 18, I joined the military. I was young and my father had always expected it of me. He served from the time he was 18 to when he was killed in the Boxer rebellion. He was so proud when I joined up... and of course I was seeking out praise from my father. I felt so wrong when I was younger, I just wanted my father to be proud of me." The butler pressed his lips together in a thin line, and let a joyless laugh escape. Luca bit his lip and waited for him to continue. "When I joined up, I made friends with another kid in my unit. Christ, we were kids. Hardly adults and already signing up to fight. Anyway, Charlie and I- his name was Charlie, caused a lot of confusion with the phonetic alphabet, never knew whether we were talking about him or the letter..." he smiled, then continued, "we ended up getting close. I don't know about him, but I was in love, I think." The gypsy's shoulders sagged, but he resolved to keep listening. "We got into a combat situation about 10 months in, and Charlie was shot, and, " James paused, and Luca moved closer, his shoulder brushing the butler's arm, "and after that I started to get really stupid. I drank, started smoking, I was always going AWOL and was constantly in trouble for reckless behavior in combat. I didn't care. Charlie was dead, and you know they say you fight for the guy next to you? I had no more reason to fight." James' voice broke and he rocked forward, turning his face to his shoes. " Eventually I was reckless enough times that I got shot. No lasting damage, but I was discharged early. I went straight home, no shower, nothing. Just the clothes on my back and a picture of Charlie. I had no where to go, spent all my money on liquor and cigarettes, and I had no reason to try to fix that." He paused, and looked at Luca with a tight smile. The gypsy gave a half smile back and squeezed his hands. "Sorry about this, I've only ever told Letta before.." Luca shook his head forcefully. "It's good to vent, you know?" James nodded, and said, "well, Letta found me wandering around one day. Suppose she takes a liking to the odd ones, or the ones that seem like they need her. She refused to leave me alone, and came with me to France. We both got hired on here, her for her experience and me for my sad look I presume. She still won't leave me alone."
Luca laughed a little. "She doesn't seem like the type to leave anyone alone." James shook his head. "No, you and I are stuck with her forever." Luca sobered up quickly. "So, do you still love him?" the butler shrugged. "I try not to think about it. He's dead, anyway, so what does it matter?" "Well a lot, because if you're still in love with him then you're probably hurting a lot, not being able to be with him!" James glanced at Luca and cracked a half smile. "I keep trying to move on. Just never got any closure, I suppose. It probably wouldn't have been forever anyway, we were silly kids. I just can't stop thinking, what if?" Luca took a deep breath and reached up gently to take the butler's face in his hands. "What if isn't an option. You got time with him, and it was great. And you loved him, and he would have been crazy to not love you back. But it's been what, five years?" James nodded slightly. "And this is still dictating your life. That is in no way healthy. Gypsies have a saying. Well, many sayings, many about wine and more about music. But this one is 'you can't see the future if you're focused on the past.' James, you're young, employed, RIDICULOUSLY handsome, and you have everything ahead of you. You said it yourself, you were just kids,"
i talk a lot of shit for someone who’s scared to make a phone call tbh
I rehearse a lot of things to say to you, but when i see you, I’m spellbound by the beauty you carry around you, My eyes don’t follow you, but you are in my vision the whole time you are there, I leave the place grinning like a fool

Meet the writers!
First photo is of me, Cas! Hi ;) I'm 19 and am commonly known to my friends as Wolf. I'm the one who came up with this whole idea and am now regretting it because I actually have to write.
Second photo is of my best friend and forever love, Dante. They are 17 and known to friends as either Kit or Pasha. Theyre the one who I decided to co write with considering they know me well enough to yell at me when I'm not writing.
We will be posting things on the blog that the characters might think or like, and we will always tag the things with the characters name. So, settle in and see what our characters inner minds are like!
You can find me at my personal blog: http://mrs-lovetts-tea-shop.tumblr.com/

Snippet One
Luca had trailed behind James at every turn and knew the butler was not only getting frustrated, but annoyed as well. And Luca was loving it. Everytime the butler would straighten out a chair or a tablecloth, he would muss it up again. He thought that the cream pourer balanced on top of the sugar jar was his finest prank today, and lunch had him almost in stiches when Luca had placed the tea pot on Lettas' head, without her even noticing, and James had gone almost purple in his seething. That was gypsies for you, they could do almost anything.
