Fanseries Tip #3

You don’t have to write what you know, but know what you write! Before you tackle a theme you’re not completely knowledgeable about… or even one you’re confident you are… take some time to do research. It can sound boring, sure, but there are many ways to make it interesting, such as talking to an expert, finding fun (preferably sourced) websites on the material, watching videos, and going out and trying things in the field. Doing the extra work will be evident in your fanseries, and makes it more than worth it!

Fanseries Writing Tip #1

If a character speaks in a particular dialect, language, or accent, show us with subtlety! Adding excessive honorifics, scattered words in other languages, or sounding the accent out distracts from the meat of the writing and can cause confusion. In a worst case scenario, doing so might even be offensive. 

Trust that your readers will pick up on how the character speaks by using dialogue tags that imply an accent, local slang, or more realistic language mixups. This ensures that your story is the true star of the show, rather than distracting people as they try to figure out exactly what your character is trying to say.

What’s King Arthur without the Black Knight?

Concept sketch for the helmet of Knightly Precure’s archnemesis, the Black Knight of Knightfall, Mordred. My first instance at drawing a helmet was on my @poke-riders blog. This was the first time in using a knight’s helmet instead of a biker helmet. References used were Fate/Apocrypha’s Saber of Red (an anime I’m particularly excited about btw) and Transformers’ Tarn. I drew the base concept, so I hope @lepetitmeow will make this so much better than I can ever draw.

For now, I have to figure out the armor.

BTW, I did research on Arthurian Legend before committing to this, and I know that the Black Knight and Mordred, a member of the Round Table and Arthur’s estranged son that betrayed him and brought down Camelot’s end, have no real relation to each other. But because the Black Knight never had a true identity, wouldn’t it have been cool if the Black Knight that never had an identity was actually revealed to be Mordred? Probably impossible considering the literature, but hey, it’s fanfiction. And one never really knows what happened in history, right?

 Fancure-Fancure Event is an event by @priestess-draws​  for the Fancure Discord! For this event you will be randomly assigned to another participating fancure creator and you pick one of their series to create your own fan-fancure for! And in return another will do the same for you. Similar to a secret exchange event!

time to do some self-promoting!

Hello to all in the fancure community! You may have seen some of my plots for fanseries in PrecureOCs under the alias “Anatee”, you may not have. I’ve never really. published most of my plots eheheheh… or in the end, I just do. one chapter.

BUT! I’m happy to announce, that this will be my first major fanseries written! I plan on dedicating a lot of time and effort to to this series, so I hope that you all can enjoy it in one way or another!

This is all I have for the page currently, but it has most of the basic information you should know, plot wise, main character-wise, and setting wise! I also plan on uploading character designs later on!

I have no idea when I’ll get the first chapter out, but I’m currently working on it! it should be out before we reach St. Patrick’s Day!

Hi, everyone! After nearly a year or so without an inactivity, I finally have Chapter 4 of JoyFeel Pretty Cure up!

This time, there are no lessons unlike the previous chapters I’ve posted. This one is pure plot with a bit of fun and jokes. It’s also a set up for the fourth Pretty Cure of the team.

If you’ve been reading my works, thank you so much. If this is your first time, I hope you enjoy it.

Also, I will begin my move to AO3 next month. So you can see ShiningHearts Pretty Cure, Sacred Regalia Pretty Cure, JoyFeel Pretty Cure, and all my other and future works there as well!

You may remember that I also run the Fancure Fanseries Discord. All of you are welcome to join us! Discuss your works, make connections, and make friends! We’ve been growing steadily with all of you talented writers and artists and beyond, and I hope that the server will help you be more confident in yourself and your talents!

FInally, I will be working on another fanseries project next month. No no, this isn’t an Aragatari project. It’s my own, in the hopes of helping fanseries creators like you get the exposure you need.
