Bathtub Friend
Rubber ducky, you're the one~ You make bath time so much fun. Since I posted old colored pencil art yesterday, I thought I'd follow up with pencil art from this month! The yellow colored pencil on the top of my very full box inspired me. He will probably go in the same universe as my snaffle creature, and perhaps with the scrapped card game critters as well, like the recently posted goosator.

Gooseator
A while back I was working on a trading card game. I scrapped the idea, but all the hybrid animals I made for it are close to my heart. Forks is used as a sort of energy resource, and the player must have enough forks to play the card, as indicated by the fork number on the card. It's a play on spoon theory.

Ink On Parchment
This piece is from 2019. A tabaxi that I only got to play once. You know how poorly set up dnd groups go. I miss the just-after-highschool days when I played weekly in person. Since then I havent found a good, consistent in person group.

Willing to sell or trade this character if anyone is interested.

Spooked
In a mystical bioluminescent forest, a little critter is startled - but curious - about an even littler critter.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Do you have an artfight/are you gonna be participating this year?

Reblogging this to save for later <3
2019 Anxious Sleep
I've been struggling to draw the last several weeks. While I'm starting to get back on top of it and feel excited to draw again, I don't have any new art ready. So ya'll are getting pieces from the archive, spread throughout my whole journey. This piece was done in 2019, showing the Rebs design of that era, her fancy and over complicated version. This was my pfp in a lot of places for a long time. So it stood out from all the other '19 pieces as kind of "core."

Practice Makes Perfect
Recently I posted a rough watercolor piece of Rebs, my first experiment with Rebelle 7. Well this was done during the same month, after some practice!

Bittersweet
This is a sad one for me. This'll probably be my last "fresh" pony art for a while. The ARPG that had me excited to draw ponies closed all its rpg elements. It still exists as a MLP AU, and you can find details about it here. https://sites.google.com/view/tales-from-equestria/home Anyone into mlp aus, I'd encourage to check it out. The team that produces it is still lovely and will be coming out with more events and prompts! As for myself, on to more gamified collaborative world building experiences.

Rebelle 7 First experiment
My very first experimentation with Rebelle 7, done back in Dec 2023. I painted the background grey and quickly found that affected the piece in an interesting way. I'd like to do more pieces with that background tint thing in the future.

Characters being compared to dogs always use terriers or pitbulls or something for their metaphors. “They grab on and they don’t let go” “They keep worrying at it until it’s dead” etc.
Anyway, I want to see collies used as metaphors. Albert Payson Terhune style. “He was like an attack dog–making slash-and-run attacks, cutting them up worse every time, never staying in range long enough to get hurt but circling back over and over.”
@animatedamerican yes EXCELLENT.
“He was like a bloodhound–not actually that violent at all, but his reputation did the work for him.”
“He was like a corgi: by all signs unaware that a fight was even happening, just enthusiastic and delighted to be involved.”
“He was like a labrador– so known for being friendly and having a soft mouth that everyone forgot that he was actually quite large and had teeth.”
“He was like a poodle - much smarter than you’d expect for someone with such flamboyant hair ”
“He was like an Irish Wolfhound - he could do more damage being friendly than most people could do in a blind rage.”
He was like a beagle - AAAUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *breath* AUUUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
