Padmavati told expressive humorous stories with flowers in her hair and lanterns scattered around her. She is one of the last Halakki women who have retained some of the ancient forest rituals. We learnt to make coconut steamed sweets, and idlis wrapped in leaves that Gauri akka from the same tribe made for us. Thank you #budafolklore for bringing this experience to us, this is only Padmavatis second story telling session outside her village, and we are so blessed to have had all of them with us last evening.
