綱彌代 -- Well, well, well~... If this wasn’t an absolutely opportune time to start chanting to increase morale in the 12th Division (and make things just a wee bit more lively around these parts), then Jun was hopelessly clueless as to what was!
“Jūnibantai! Jūnibantai~! Who’s the best squad in the Goteijūsantai~? Hai, hai, it’s the Jūnibantai ~ !!”
HEADCANON — MITSUKI’S COMMUNICATION
Mitsuki utilizes a variety of non-verbal communication styles to interact with others, which range from the following:
manual & visual (sign language & lip reading)
reiatsu (reading the reiatsu of others & adjusting their own reiatsu output)
written (writing on paper & manifesting words of reishi in the air with kidō)
reiraku (manipulating spirit ribbons in order to better convey their sentiments and understand others through the compressed visualization of their auras)
Note: While it’s highly unlikely due to their very selective mutism and touch aversion, Mitsuki will also employ methods such as using their voice to speak and tracing their fingers into the palms of others in order to communicate.
Bleach’s deaf-mute canon character:
my deaf-mute original character:
LITTLE DRAGON ( BLAZE / worldhoppingtime ):
@arcaniux random starter for the OWO and UWU man (jun)
Blaze didn’t expect to run into anyone walking out of the 5th divison. She was going to go get lunch as it was her break time. Though noticing Jun, unknowing his status or who he was as she didn’t keep up with the noble family trees and branches, nor did she keep up with the 12th divison as that place made her uncomfortable. “May I help you with something?” She offered calmly. wondering if he was looking for some one in the 5th divison or was lost.
綱彌代 -- What a keen eye! Ah-ha-ha, perhaps this wee little chibi ryū sensed him lurking about her grounds and grew territorial at the prospect of a spontaneous invasion, very much like that of her former captain... How very frightening! Orrrrr, perhaps-perhaps-perhaps, this particular subject of interest possessed highly acute reikaku with sensitivity and intuition to rival that of his terrifying and adorable cousin, but Jun heavily doubted that! Oh well, let’s not rule out any speculations. not when this was their very first official meeting.
But, by golly, he’s pleased she asked, and it certainly showed! “Yes, you may, you may!” Jun chimed, tucking his hands into his sleeves as he leaned forth like the tick-tock of a cuckoo clock striking midnight. “In fact, I’ve something only you can help with~ You don’t mind lending me a hand and an arm, yes?”
綱彌代 -- Oh-ho-oho, there’s a certain individual following very closely behind him! Should he be terrified by that familiar face: make a scene of clutching at his cloak and yelping out in fright? Or should he simply keep walking, without acknowledging anything? Hm-hm, decisions, decisions...
“I see you, Mayuri-kun!” Jun exclaimed, twirling on his heel to strike a silly goose-like pose with his fingers curled ‘round his eye as he made an exaggerated expression of astonishment. “Whatever could the captain want with little ol’ me~? — Is funding low again? Is this finally the day you fall to your knees and ask me for Tsunayashiro coins? What can I do for my taicho, I must know!”
@kxrotsuchi
[ The sheer difference between Tokinada & Jun is so funny to me bc Toki’s a frivolous contrarian introvert & Jun’s a dubiously wholesome extrovert, but they’re both Tsunayashiro and sometimes unintentionally hilarious old men -- I have fun writing them even if they confuse me :’3
sphaeraa:
Who in all of this accursed region did that voice belong to? Better yet, who would call out to the Hōgyoku in such a way, while knowing what he was?
Even at this distance, it was grating at best. Oh no, no no, that would simply not do. This one was either incredibly skilled, or incredibly stupid. Not to mention that this energy belonged to this familiar local, and mentioned a man of that ilk. Meaning, the Tsunayashiro type. It caused the entity’s vessel to scoff to himself rather easily, before finally turning his head after settling post-manifestation to consider the one that addressed him. Pupils fixed easily on the figure, and the silver entity’s expression seemed to grow increasingly curious thereafter. Concerned, but curious nonetheless. One brow arched in consideration, then the cadaver pivoted upon his heel to better face the reaper. Tokinada-kun? And that had his other brow arch with the first, expression going from perplexingly inquisitive, to surprised.
“Hm?” Curiosity undeniably sparked, the vessel teleported, slipping through the entirety of one’s detection before planting himself directly alongside, and atop the wall. Just as quickly as he’d vanished, he’d reappeared entirely reassembled, as though he had been standing there the whole time, of course. What might one expect from his prowess, though? It was an easy feat, and nothing to gawk out by any standard. But without missing a beat, he leaned a bit, but kept several feet between them, his curiosity having returned. “And who might you be, exactly?”
綱彌代 -- Ah-ha-ha! The Hōgyoku had so adroitly responded to Jun’s summons, and with such swiftness at that! Would it be a faux pas to exclaim ‘Eureka!’ at the simplicities of divinity? He’s absolutely, positively beside himself with wonder and, amidst the awe, pondered and prattled on within his mind the circumstances of the Hōgyoku’s creation and the nuances of his composition based on the fleeting demonstration of his reflexivity. Did the Muken no Kami-sama-dono, the Lord God of Muken, incorporate any konpaku belonging to exceptionally fast animals within his half? Did Urahara-kun, with his half? Did they both, or did they simply opt for the konpaku of people? Regardless, what a squirrel-like reaction! Ah, what a shame that there weren’t any actual squirrels on the grounds of the estate to act as controlled variables for this spontaneous impromptu experiment; Tokinada-kun’s crows must have gobbled them all up in the forest, munching up their little heads and leaving no trace of reishi left like loyal bottom feeders.
Oh! And now he’s near, now he’s here — God-speed, mates! And now here they both were, both humpty-dumpties sat on the wall.
Eureka! “Who am I? Who are you?” he jested back with ease before leaning forward toward the deity himself in response, chuckling before delivering a proper address. “Unfortunately not Tokinada-kun! Merely one of his cousins and optimistically his favorite out of the ruthless bunch: Tsunayashiro Jun'ichirō, but that’s such a mouthful; ‘Jun’ would seem more seamless on your tongue, won’t it? — I’m so very, very pleased to finally meet your acquaintance, O Hōgyoku-sama~”
Another chuckle slipped him as he kept his cheer. “However~ we’ve a few glaringly apparent moral dilemmas at hand: two tiny ‘trolley problems’, if you will! The first: Muken must miss you quite dearly; I know I would, and I’m wondering however did you escape it. And the second: you’re most definitely trespassing on, ho hum, ‘wretched territory and accursed grounds’ I believe it’s commonly proclaimed by my dear baby cousin.” Excellent civic duty, Jun! Now, onto the matters of greater significance.
“All that aside, whatever are you doing here, in seeming search for Tokinada-kun?” Jun hummed with beaming nonchalance, worrying the soft skin of his thumb with the nail of his index finger. “It was my hypothesis that the nasty ol’ Enrakyōten would’ve served well to ward you off, orrrr,” he allowed the newly formed hangnail to bleed freely down his wrist as he extended his hand and circulated his spring water-esque reiatsu, “is this blood curious enough to beckon you?”
And if not Tsunayashiro blood nor energy much more pure than that of his cousin, would it be the Tsunayashiro soul: the plausible reincarnation of the ancestor, now solely in the form of the current head of the clan, that had summoned the Hōgyoku here? What drew this god to Tokinada of all of them? Was he truly the reincarnation of the original sinner? — Jun must know at once, and confirm those suspicions once and for all on how special his cousin was for the sake of his research!
HEADCANON — AKIRA & THE TRAGEDY OF SAKAHONE
The tragedy of Sakahone, known by its residents as ‘The Day of Black Sky’, resulted in those who had worshipped Mimihagi and offered the god parts of themselves to inhabit with its power of stagnation passing away en masse, their blackened souls ascending toward the sky above the Seireitei and staining it with the color of darkness.
The residents of Sakahone who did not revere Mimihagi as a god and instead scorned it as a devil survived the ordeal at the cost of one of their eyes, which mingled with the ascending shadowed souls taken by the ‘rapture’.
The sole exception to this is Akira, who was promptly exiled from Sakahone by its remaining ‘heretic’ residents due to the abnormality of his situation and the ambiguity of his stance regarding Mimihagi.
( Akira had first encountered Mimihagi in his youth, where he had been offered up as a sacrifice that the being of stagnation refused to accept much less acknowledge: a trend that seems to have continued if his seamless survival is any indication. )
Notes: This phenomenon appears to have been initiated by Mimihagi’s Kamikaze and bears a striking resemblance to Yhwach’s Auswählen.
It is plausible that the Kamikaze can be described as ‘Mimihagi’s Auswählen’, albeit with its own very distinctive individuality.
綱彌代 -- “What’s this I spy over yonder with this eye of mine? What is it?” Jun hummed to himself as he swung his loosely-crossed legs to and fro, seated upon a wall that surrounded one of the many Tsunayashiro courtyards. “No, no, who is it?”
From the outskirts beyond the estate’s immediate vicinity, a very, very peculiar energy had manifested itself to catch his eye. Yes, yes, he’s been tracking this particular signature for quite some time now, gauging its fluctuations and mapping its traces and whatnot. Frivolous, little details; so completely unimportant and dull that he could yaaaaawn! What held the most significance was the origin of such energy, not the means he utilized to measure and anticipate it. Yes, this individual was one he’s been observing and devising methods to better analyze. — Here laid divinity in the flesh, as they proclaimed! What was this being doing here of all locations? Simply paying his dearly beloved baby cousin Tokinada-kun yet another visit?
“O Hōgyoku-sama~!” Jun called, fingers curled ‘round his eye to mimic a telescope device as he cupped his other hand ‘round his mouth to amplify his words. “Tokinada-kun is attending an assembly of the courts elsewhere and cannot receive you! Would you like me to keep you company in his stead?”
@sphaeraa
綱彌代 -- “Pardon me, pardon me~ Oh! Ah, no, no, pardon me,” Jun dismissed cheerfully, the chime of his voice ringing out with alacrity as he shifted and shuffled his way through the crowd.
Goodness him, this ‘Shinigami Research and Development Institute’ was new in itself, so did that newcomer of a captain Urahara Kisuke need to rearrange the structure of the division’s barracks as well? Miscellaneous machinery ticking away here, faceless white lab coats tinkering there, a terrible absence of properly prim lighting everywhere — How was he supposed to locate anyone and anything around here, much less his own head? Hikifune-chan wouldn’t have allowed such a mess and scene of things, oh no, not at all. Ahhhh, what a shame she wasn’t here anymore. Jun could be optimistic that she hadn’t witnessed the reconstruction of her quarters and the destruction of the warmth it held, but, alas, he felt like he swallowed a mouthful of bitter melon tea. Tut-tut.
Drinking the rest of the pot was accepting the acknowledgement that his sentiments were equivalent to the feelings of the others that had been left behind. Sip-sip-tut-tut. How bitter!
“There you are!” he exclaimed to himself upon detecting a familiar, albeit uncharacteristically yet understandably somber, reiatsu lurking within a seemingly uninhabited room. Swiftly, Jun cleared the distance, manifesting in the doorway and clutching the wood of it as he leaned forth with papers in hand. “Fukutaichō-chan! Come, come, I plan to send word to Hikifune-chan, in the Soul King Palace above. Here, write your letter and I shall send it with mine.”

HEADCANON — JUN’S RESEARCH
Deeming himself as a 'conservationist', Jun's research is based in the more metaphysical, spiritual, and occult matters, such as those pertaining to the Soul King and related beings, divine figures and occurrences, reincarnation, transfiguration, augmentation, and the transcendence of the soul.
His primary interest lies in higher beings recognized as divinity and their interactions and connections with individuals who come in contact with such beings, some of which include carriers of the Soul King fragments, those who reach transcendence or display a degree of divine ability, and those who have had unfavorable encounters with divinity and have become 'cursed/marked'.
He's invested in exploring a soul's potential and the expansion of it through unconventional means such as through contact with higher beings, manipulation of the cycle of reincarnation, and simply meddling in affairs that remain untouched even by self-proclaimed 'gods of death'.
( An example of such an affair would be the creation of the Artificial Soul, a project he had dedicated extensive efforts and funding to alongside his research partner and at the time captain Hikifune Kirio. )
While this is where his true ambitions lie, Jun employs a front at the 12th Division to disguise his research and give the impression that it's focused on the study of the advancement of artificial souls and 'endangered species': a term which he affectionately refers to the remaining Quincy and Fullbringers by, though he is known to speak of his subjects of interest with this identifier as well.
